As many of you who read my recent Valiant story now, I bought back issues of every new Valiant comic in the past month (with the exception of Shadowman). Every book I bought was at least in Very Fine condition, while most were in Near Mint condition. I don't understand how all of a sudden Harbinger 23 would look like it has been put through a shredder. I have not gone by to get my copy yet, but I am fairly confident it will be in ok condition.

I won't know how my copy looks till I get my DCBS order in soonish. I'm avoiding the spoiler section about Harby #23 until I get and read the issue myself. With luck, I'll get mine Saturday :hope: , but more than likely Monday.

We've been doing a good job of hiding the key piece of information, even in the spoiler area, but yeah, it'll read better going in fresh.

All copies were damaged at my store as well and the owner made a comment that he may be cutting his orders back soon because as much as people love the books he can't sell damaged copies. Which was then followed by he may no longer qualify for the incentive books :o

the "coffin" cover was damaged, the Torque solo was okay enough...the shop said they'd see if they could switch the other one for a better copy...and on Wednesday an okay copy of the Torque cover was sent to them...

I end up passing on the funeral cover because every copy(4-5 on the shelf at my LCS) was damaged.

Such a shame.

The torque cover was good. So I got that one.

Took 2 but my LCS got replacements for the damaged funeral cover. Not sure on everyones LCS , but my LCS I guess have some deal they can send back badly damaged stuff, and do so more often then i would like on Valiant stuff. When the second batch of 8bits came out, it took 4 times to get a copy of Q&W Zelda one without a tear /squished cover. I do think they return them same day so, not sure what there deal is.

Hey all, I have spoken to someone at Valiant. What would be the biggest help to all of them is to send pictures of your damaged books so they can properly assess as best as possible. I have already sent mine to Atom, who you can find on the boards here. Aside from just bringing this to their attention, we need to show them exactly what the problem is, so they can figure out a solution. So, bombard Atom (only with pics, and love. This is no this fault!)!

Well, I know that the first part is sarcasm. But, this is Atom's job. So yes, I encourage EVERYONE who is upset about damaged copes of any issue of any Valiant title to e-mail him pictures so they can solve the problems. This is not for us, this is a help to Valiant. Please do it.

Just looked at time both the coffin and the Torque one were flawless. On the other hand, my LCS had six copies of Q&W7 and all but one had a one inch "crinkle" on the cover.

Also, picked up Harby #23. I looked through the 6 copies the store had, and every single cover was damaged, bent, messed up in some way. I let the guy at the counter know, and he kinda just mumbled something about Diamond.

Just wanted to see if anyone else had similar problems?
the wrinkles that you commonly see on VEI books.
This speaks to the paper quality VEI has used, seemingly from the beginning.
