Awesome issue! But did anyone else find Harada's dialogue about shoving the Monk's remains up his behind a bit disturbing? An odd comment, I thought...lol

I was also surprised to learn of Kris' feelings about Flamingo. I didn't really see that in the storyline, other than in the perfect day dream sequence - but since that was a shared dreamscape, and Kris seemed surprised by the kiss, it made me think that it was more of Flamingo's influence. Otherwise, they didn't have much interaction that would endear one to the other. But it did serve as a way to explain how and why Kris was grieving the way she was.

There was also that scene in the diner with the two of them, just after the Renegades picked up Flamingo. I felt there was some connection in that scene.

Really glad Pete got to wrap things up with each team member. Liked his interaction with Torque. Speaking of, I hope he gets that talent of increase his size under control. Could be a great weapon against a giant death robot (if only we knew where we could find one).

I was also surprised to learn of Kris' feelings about Flamingo. And they're still teenagers. Love happens very quickly and very intensely and can often be very one-sided.

Mmm, I remember most of their interactions and yes, I recall some manipulation. But can you honestly say that all this time you imagined the BM to be in control of both characters and moreover, the future?

And why would Peter do this to himself if he could have just done it to Harada?

Maybe he just lacks the control to both do what he wants to do to Harada and protect himself, and his priority is the former.

That's a big maybe.

Well, it's not like he spent that much time at the Foundation, honing his skills.

Part of it was a plot device, but the Monk says that the one person Harada can't defeat is the person who is willing to sacrifice himself in the process. Harada, being the self-preservationist that he is, can't fathom Pete destroying himself in the process of fighting him and so Pete is able to gain the upper hand and do so before he realizes what is happening.

I think the 'Master' and 'Sensai' stuff would be said in a mocking tone with a big dose of sarcasm.

Anyway, loved the issue. I always enjoy these quieter "Aftermath" issues in team books. I really enjoyed Pete's time with Torque and Faith. And did...did Kris just come out? Cool. I always like to see more LGBT characters in mainstream books.

I don't, I'm relatively new to comics and limited to Valiant and franchises I like (Halo, Dexter, Walking Dead) but I do remember reading about Green Lantern being gay (pretty sure it was him). I just couldn't wrap my head around why it was a big enough deal to push it out there. It sounded like "Oooh, look at how progressive and understanding we are." If they wanted to make a splash, taking one of the bigger characters on as a homosexual would have been interesting. Gay Superman? Go ahead and gloat. They're not willing to risk offending the readership, and for that it's phony IMO. Valiant has touched on these things not as a hot-button but very organically, as a natural function of building varied characters.

I don't, I'm relatively new to comics and limited to Valiant and franchises I like (Halo, Dexter, Walking Dead) but I do remember reading about Green Lantern being gay (pretty sure it was him). I just couldn't wrap my head around why it was a big enough deal to push it out there. It sounded like "Oooh, look at how progressive and understanding we are." If they wanted to make a splash, taking one of the bigger characters on as a homosexual would have been interesting. Gay Superman? Go ahead and gloat. They're not willing to risk offending the readership, and for that it's phony IMO. Valiant has touched on these things not as a hot-button but very organically, as a natural function of building varied characters.

the gay aspect of the book is being used as a tool to make the book more believable and it really helps grounding the story in reality. btw i love torques reaction and how kris just shuts him down.

why do i love torques character? probably all the irony involved. .. probably torquehalla. i would follow a torquehalla book.

After a great fast paced story of action and tragedy, Dysart follows it up with a GREAT character issue.

Really enjoyed Faith becoming a more commanding personality rather than a glorified cheerleader.

Loved Peter's goodbyes to his renegade team - really well done.

I liked the Monk's deus ex machina moment - giving us some insight on his manipulation and some foreshadowing towards the future - 4001?

Did anyone else's mind perk up when the Monk explaining the future of Psiots says to Harada you are the "Father of that"?

Couldn't help but think of Rai and the speculation that Father is Harada.

My small gripes was with the dialogue with Harada and Peter ... as was pointed out, The shoving stuff up his butt was a weird thing to say. Maybe it was a mistake in the editing/lettering?

Also, I was a bit disappointed with Kris's reaction to Peter's possible death. It seemed like they were getting closer the past 2 issues - but I think it was just a defensive reaction by her - wanting to shield herself from being hurt by it.

Great issue - Khari with a nice job and fear the reber delivered on the colors.

Yeah, DC made a big deal out of having Green Lantern be gay. And then it turned out to be the version of the character the very few people outside of the hardcore comic book fan community would recognize. In a completely rebooted continuity. Nice attempt, but they didn't stick the landing.
