Pak has done a fine job, IMO. I've loved every issue from him. Nord on this book full time would just up amazing factor for me. I just want more with the Geomancer's.

Generally agreed. I have enjoyed the whole from Pak, although there are some logic flaws in his writing, but nothing so strongly flawed that I disengaged with the stories.Talisman wrote:Pak has done a fine job, IMO. I too would love to see more about the Geomancers.
Maybe a 'Book the the Geomancer' type of mini to start sketching in more about them?
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

It's not that I didn't like Pak's take. I actually did like both arcs. Outs that the two arcs didn't jive with each other, let alone what else we had seen of EW at that time. All I ever asked for was some continuity reconciliation between Pak's two first arc, second arc and FVL's A&A arc.Talisman wrote:Pak has done a fine job, IMO. I've loved every issue from him. Now Kindt can be considered the primary EW writer and has done a fine job, but suddenly Milligan is brought in and says he didn't feel the need to consult at all with anyone else. That just worries me that we will have even more issues because the previous ones were never reconciled.
If we just had a firm identity for Gilad, it would be fine. We need to know how/why he became the Fist and Steel. If he gets fed up with the Earth and the Geomancers every few generations and "quits," then so be it, but we need to know that too. It wouldn't take much...even a throw away line by Armstrong making fun of him for it would be enough for me. We also need some follow up with his two kids, Negral, and what exactly happened to the "Earth" after he "killed" her.

Re: What needs to work in Eternal Warrior??
According to Dinesh (if I recall correctly), the first EW arc (#1-4) occurs two years before his first appearance in A&A's second arc (#5-8). If we assume A&A's second arc is set in real time, that places it sometime in 2012, thereby placing EW's first arc around 2010. It's presumed sometime between 2010 and 2012, he returns to working with the Geomancer (hence the plot of that A&A arc).Shadowman99 wrote:I don't think there's been any problem with EW at all![]()
On FormerReader's point about 'The Big Battle 2000 Years From Now': Technically speaking, if it's assumed that if the first EW arc takes place in 2014, then the 'big battle' takes place in 4014. As far as I recall, the 2nd EW arc takes place in 4001... So the 'big battle' hasn't actually happened yet.
I would like to see those plot holes addressed, sooner rather than later. While I enjoy having questions raised regarding plot, character motivation and character history, EW's first arc just created more confusion regarding the overall continuity, and still hasn't been cleared up. I'm hoping the upcoming EW - Days of Steel mini series might address those questions, but I don't think it will since it's said to occur in the 10th Century AD. I suppose a flash forward at the end could address those plot holes, but it'd probably seem out of place, as well as the fact I'd think those questions probably both need and deserve more than a few pages to be addressed, answered, and resolved. Guess we'll see in the next several months.

Re: What needs to work in Eternal Warrior??
Ah, that's interesting to know. Still, off the top of my head, I don't recall seeing dates written anywhere in that first EW arc, so if VEI wants to be that specific about things, maybe they should fit that info onto the comic pages? Still, it's likely they don't do that to leave themselves a bit of wiggle room anyway, which is probably a wise idea really.DIrishB wrote:According to Dinesh (if I recall correctly), the first EW arc (#1-4) occurs two years before his first appearance in A&A's second arc (#5-8). I think you'll end up being right about Days of Steel, I saw in Milligan's interview that he's written it as a non-continuity based story, which seems bizarre to me, but hey

If Quantum and Woody are in VEI continuity, then nothing should be out of continuity.
