What comics are you reading now?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

It's on hiatus 'til July but I think the trade will come in the meantime. So good.

This is another book that everyone raves about that I can't get into.

I remember it being very wordy at times but I think that's just Claremont in general. Good overall but there were a few times where I grew impatient.

that's pretty much how i feel about Claremont X-Men. some really really great stuff but sometimes way too wordy.

I've been slowly working my way through the infamous Spider-Man Clone Saga. what everyone says about it is true, it is AWFUL. to help ease that pain i've also been reading the Kurt Busiek written Untold Tales of Spider-Man it is really damn good.

Just read 1-36 of Mark Waid's Daredevil. Very good stuff. I enjoyed just about every issue. I'll give him this, he knows how to leave you wanting more. And the art was very thoughtful, and appropriate. It jumped around between a few different artists, but Chris Samnee wound up working most of the backend of the run. Good stuff!

Justice League 3000 #1-5-An interesting take on the League and the 31st century of the N52DCU the writting is good when it's more light-hearted. Howard Porter's artwork is not as good as his work on the 90s JLA.

Harley Quinn#0-4-I get the idea that this DC's attempt to have a Deadpool like character. She's nuts, kills people, and she's really funny. The artwork is good and the writting tries to hard to be a dark comdey but it's still funny to see Harley talk to a stuffed and burnt beaver. Now I wonder how long DC will make it a grimdark series.

Yeah, thick in a bad way. I tried reading it a while ago and couldn't get through it. It's too dated.

I'm still .... liking it.... but I'm not excited to get back to it....

I feel it's something that I "should" read.

DC and Marvel should put out "Cliff's Notes" versions of their influential storylines. Promote them in current books that reference those events. I feel missing the entirety of the Civil War even from Marvel leaves me in the dark about some things in the books I read. Things like the Dark Phoenix Saga are also referenced as if everyone knows the details.

I'm sure there would be a market for it.

I'm about 6 months behind in Valiant reading. So, I'm reading 6 months worth of nearly every Valiant title on a 13 hour flight this week.

My comic reading plunged when child #2 came into this world 9 months ago.

I'm reading DC's Forever Evil and the spin offs: Arkham War and Rogue's Rebellion. Not really original and they established a long time ago that no character truly "dies" but I'm still entertained. I have about 2/3 left.

I haven't touched it, and apparently this had zero effects so far in my books (Batman centered books, I didn't read NW). So, i'm happy I'm not missing anything special (Grayson's future is the BIG thing to come out of this, I guess). :P

They have collected Knightsend for the first time in this new TPBs, if I'm not mistaken. :hm:
I still think the best bit of it is the first act. I thought Bane was the biggest challenge Bats ever faced, he was stronger than Killer Croc and almost (Almost) as smart as Ra's or the Riddler.

I am getting ready to bind my entire Knightfall collection, which I believe is over 90+ issues into HC volumes. Looking forward to reading the whole story from start to finish. :thumb:

As long as none of you expect a Masterpiece (the story is waaaaaaay too long for it's own good, imo) you're in for some nice Batman stuff.
Not meaning to derail the thread, but I can not help top look at what WB did to Bane. Dude's entered the Batman zeitgeist, I'd say for newer generations and talking about the general public only, he might be the most famous Bat-villain, after the Joker and perhaps, Catwoman.
Which is unbelievable, in a weird way. Got to give credit to DC and WB (AND NOLAN, OF COURSE)- he's a kinda recent character (20 plus years). Or maybe he's not, and I'm older than I think I am. facepalm

Read the following last night:

Afterlife with Archie 5 (3/5)

Hellboy in hell 6 (3/5)

Abe sapien 12 (3/5)

Revenge 1 image (complete crap)

Starlight 1 image (4/5 surprisingly good. I plan on getting the trade when it comes out)

Field 1 image (3/5)

Southern Bast@rds (3.5/5) really good, but I couldn't give it a 4/5. I am afraid this story is going to fall apart

Also I have been reading the Stay Bullets Uber Alles edition by David Lapham. This is amazing and a 5/5 for me so far (7 issues in out if 41). If the writing keeps up this may be the best thing I have read in a long time
