Wasn't there just a discussion about trying to obtain one of these elusive gems?

That's not elusive, there's 17 of them in 9.8 as of the last census update which is from April '05.

Now if you really want elusive, the EW1 flat gold does not exist in 9.8. and there are only 4 in 9.6, as of the last census update (including a copy that I have which is not on the census yet).

hmmm.....The census still shows 3 from the link off the vc.com page. Is that a link to the most current census or an older one? I'd think it would have to link the current census info, right?

The embossed cover is made of strong stuff while the flat cover is not. Therefore, the embossed is common in 9.8 while the flat, as woogie said, doesn't exist in 9.8 slabbed.

Yes, there are 3 listed, mine makes 4. That we know of, there could have been 5 9.8s and 10 more 9.6s since April. But I doubt it. Sorry for the confusion.

They were getting good there for awhile. They would update the census every month. Now they are back to the once every 3+ months schedule. Yippeee... lazy *SQUEE*.

Yes, there are 3 listed, mine makes 4. That we know of, there could have been 5 9.8s and 10 more 9.6s since April. But I doubt it. Sorry for the confusion.
