Re: Supreme Returns
It's not hard to say that with Liefeld's characters because they are rip-offs of DC and Marvel.dornwolf wrote:That's true. It's actually on the Wikipedia page for Supreme with a quote from Liefeld claiming Alan's Tom Strong and Promethea work was merely left over Supreme and Glory arcs. Also Liefeld is one to talk, all his characters are riffs on more popular characters (you actually could say this about alot of those Image characters).Cyberstrike wrote: Liefeld has became an ungrateful d*****bag by disrespecting and crapping all over Moore's work on saving his otherwise worthless characters. Because if it wasn't for Alan Moore saving Liefeld's characters, nobody would have given a damn about them today.
Also, if Alan Moore hadn't worked on Supreme I'd of never picked of the books and I would've missed just awesome fun.
Supreme is Superman
Glory is Wonder Woman
Youngblood is JLA
Bloodpool is Teen Titans
Newmen is X-Men
Bloodstrike is Suicide Squad/The Punisher
Brigade is X-Force
Prophet is Cable
New Man is X-Man

Can't give it to him to hard on it thought as literally everyone who creates their own hero-universe other than Valiant does the same thing. They just admit instead of trying to promote their genius.Cyberstrike wrote:It's not hard to say that with Liefeld's characters because they are rip-offs of DC and Marvel.dornwolf wrote:That's true. Re: Supreme Returns
Youngblood was Liefeld's orginal pitch to DC for a new Teen Titans series. Most of his orginal cast for the book match right up with Teen Titan characters from teh 80s. Though clearly they are more JLA/Avengers now. When Liefeld still had Moore they were going to do a JLA rip off called Allies. I think it would've been great, but Leifeld's poor business plan destroyed that from ever happening.dornwolf wrote:Can't give it to him to hard on it thought as literally everyone who creates their own hero-universe other than Valiant does the same thing. New Men were just an X-Men right down to the characters being mutants with a Nu Gene.Magnus9178 wrote:Youngblood was Liefeld's orginal pitch to DC for a new Teen Titans series. Huh, interesting, definitely not how I remembered it. I might have to go reread those...then again, maybe notCyberstrike wrote:New Men were just an X-Men right down to the characters being mutants with a Nu Gene.Magnus9178 wrote:Youngblood was Liefeld's orginal pitch to DC for a new Teen Titans series. Re: Supreme Returns
Well the first issues out and i read it. Arts a tad trippy for the big one. There is the implication of the multi-verse or at least constantly changing universe, the door to the world of supreme and Ethan is shown but no sign of Supreme. If anyone wants more in depth I can try. I'm just honestly hoping this doesn't go six issues then we finally see supreme

Re: Supreme Returns
I picked it up as well. The artwork is the best part - really beautiful and fit the dreamlike tone of the story perfectly. I'm not sold after the first issue and really not sure if I'll pick up the second issue. Feels like a slow build and might read better in a trade.
Multum In Parvo
Re: Supreme Returns
This is going to trade wait for me now. Issue 2 wasn't bad but not really great. I get the feeling that Supreme won't show up till the end as a Deu Ex Machina deal so I'm waiting this one out
Re: Supreme Returns
I enjoyed the Larsen run. It isn't as good as Moore's run. But is still a decent comic. The Dirt Gang wrote:I bought a lot of Larsen's run minus the last issue but I've yet to read them. Now I feel like I might have wasted my money.dornwolf wrote: Just avoid Larsens take like the plague I beg of you.
Is the first one where he used Alan Moore's script any good?
