Quite a bit of interest in my store items this week...

Post by ckb »

....hopefully we will turn the corner.

I am being quite firm on my pricing, as my 'inventory' is thin, compared to what I have had for the past year or so. I want to hold some inventory for the Chicago show.

I do appreciate all the offers, though.

I should be adding more books to the store this week or next. When the Chicago show rolls around, I will end all my listings. Don't be alarmed, I just don't want to double sell anything.

Also, a bit of news here, I've decided to bring my personal CGC Valiant collection to the Chicago show. This includes my registry set. While I will have these books priced, they will be priced agressively (meaning high for the current market, which is clearly deflated at the moment).

My descision has more to do with the overhead of setting up at such a big show than anything else. I need to do everything I can to succeed when outlaying over $1200 just to get into the door and get home. If it turns out these bring people to my table, I have to take the hit and sell them, hoping to resubmit and replace them later on.

I'll be posting more information about my placement at the show as soon as I have it, and maybe even a price list for the registry set and my other books for fun.

I cannot put into words how exceptional a community has been put together here around the Valiant universe. It is my pleasure to help my fellow collectors get what they are looking for, especially in the area of CGCs. The risks of massively diving in with getting hundreds of books slabbed was immense, but the support I received has paid me back tenfold. If I continue to submit and keep an inventory, I promise to keep prices reasonable so high grade examples are available to just about everyone.

Again, a big heartfelt thanks to everyone. Hope to see you in Chicago.

My booth number is 2564. Unfortuately the show floor map they sent me is unreadable, so I can't tell where that is. :-( I asked wizard for some help in an email. What are the chances it will be answered?

My Harbinger 1 CGC 9.4 sold today in my eBay store. Congrats to the buyer if he is a board member / lurker. I was hoping to keep it for Chicago, but I could not turn down such a fair offer.

Also, on my new returns from CGC - I found out Friday it may be more than a week until I see them, so do not hold your breath.

Anyway, on Chicago, should we arrange some sort of Valiant thing? Are you making the trip this year, Greg? :hope:

ckb,

I meant to post here when you started this thread. Kudos to you for all your efforts to bring high-grade VALIANTS to all who want to buy them. It's obvious you're driven by genuine interest rather than making a big pile of cash.

Kudos! :thumb:

I appreciate it! Who knows, I may keep doing it... :-)

I'm a bit reluctant to do much more at this point, without some clear direction with what is happening with the Valiant IP. I do not want to be part of further increasing the supply if there is no demand to meet it.

And, worse, the raw books are getting harder to find. (I think SOTU has them all :-) I don't like gambling on eBay with condition.

Yes please. You're basically my only source of getting my complete set of 9.6's.

A big FU to those eBayers who think a Bloodshot 9.8 should start at $40. Just imagine if they get their hands on a preunity of the same grade.

That could be doable :thumb: Not sure on my booth #'s, but my 2 buddies and I will be located to the right of Motor City Comics and kiddie corner to one of Graham Crackers monster islands :o :o :o

I'll update this post with the booth #'s when I find out.
