Q&W Must Die #3 Discussion

I actually liked this issue. I even chuckled out loud a few times, which hasn't really happened with this book since the original arc.

I thought the first two issues were just a big mess. Too much going on visually and the introduction of too many characters and little sub plots, but this started pulling them all together. It was actually nice to see the guys not be complete buffoons in a fight for once, too.

The art is still more miss than hit for me, but the overall story this issue was a huge improvement. Not constant jokes (or attempts at jokes) in every word balloon, but some well placed remarks combined with some rediculous situations.

I really liked this one- possibly the best of Q&W so far. The ending... so funny.
there were a few genuine lol points throughout. More of this please!

What a surprisingly good issue. Steve Lieber is KILLING IT!!!!! And Dave Lanphear on letters, and emojis, and whatever else you want to call those designs within the word bubbles. Loved the lungs with the x, and the lungs with the check mark.
Very well paced, fun issue. Not cramming jokes into EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. BALLOON. That's what they used to do. this was so much better because there were well placed lines.
Oh, and did I mention Steve Lieber is AWESOME!
They obliterated a friggin panda

This issue was great! It had suicide sloths!

Also, anyone else pick up that Quantum's love interest might have used to be a dude? Either that or she just got a boob job and thought that was the same hing body mod people are into. Eric clearly didn't know which was the case, which was funny.

On another note, disappointed to not see the baby goats yet. :P

I don't care what the haters say, this book is great. a lot going on in the script (each issue is packed!) and great, appropriate art. I mean, who could not like those cuddly suicide sloths? I just wish it were still an ongoing series, no Q&W in the forseeable future has me depressed. an ongoing, then a mini, then nothing is not the trend I want to see. I have high hopes for a strong finish though.

I just read this the other day. I think this is the best Q&W arc to date, it's freaking hilarious.

Good stuff, after this I hope Q&W doesn't go on hiatus like most series' seem to do at some point

I admit it 90% of Q&W stuff just does not ring true for me. Either as funny, interesting or important to the VU as a whole.
I keep buying it cause, again, I admit, I'm VEI loyal still at this point. I own one of every issue and have 90% of all VU/Acclaim books from '90 to present.
Thus it's easier to keep buying the product monthly than scour for it in back issue bins later. Worse if one is hard to find and costly later. What one run do have none of....you guessed it, the Q&W Acclaim run.

I stopped mid way through this issue. Read some other books and came back to it--it was that unimpressive to me. It's why I'm posting in the thread a week later.

You could replace "Q&W" with "Shadowman/Dr. Mirage/Punk Mambo" and the above paragraph rings true for me. Not feeling it. At all.

Q&W on the other hand... I think it's great. And I was skeptical. Not a fan of Deadpool or comedy books. But the relation between the characters that Asmus has set up has me hooked. I have full buy in.

Different strokes for different goats.

LOL! I think a t-shirt needs to be made of this.

Or at the very least, a coffee mug.

Great issue. I'm not sold on the art, but it worked. Also, I'd be very surprised if a new Q&W mini didn't start around September. That's the month after Dead Drop ends. I think they're putting that mini in Q&W's place for now.

My generally indifference to this book is tempered by something approaching a recognisable plot. Maybe his time alongside FVL on Delinquents has shown there is another way to approach story-telling. Another plus, and honestly I am sincere in this, is that the tiresome attempts at over the top 'humour' seem scaled back somewhat, which is a small mercy for this reader.

I have liked the art through this series on the whole.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month
