Pshh - sleep. I could go for more reading though...ilzuccone wrote:or wrong! ha well i guess when you have kids you have to do things other than sleep and read on vacation.Blood of Heroes wrote:Holy crap! You're doing this vacation right, that's for sure!lorddunlow wrote:I'm heeeeeeeere!
So, I'm very excited. I'll probably be flying solo tomorrow as I wiped the family out.
Flew into Anaheim on Friday. Went to Disneyland Saturday and Sunday. California Adventure Monday. Pretty much stayed past closing at Disneyland both nights with a 4 year old.
Drove Tuesday morning to Carlsbad for Legoland. Spent 6 hours at water park there, then rode some ride in the evening until they closed (only open until 8pm). Checked into crappy hotel we paid more for than either at Disneyland or SDCC. Slept. Got up this morning and drove to San Diego.
Hopefully I can get us all registered tonight. Only have an hour and a half left. Going to catch shuttle in a bit.
I totally running on adrenaline. Much excite!
First night in California, I stayed up until 3am reading Valiant (trying to catch up!). That is 5am my local time... My son woke me up at 6:30 for some cartoons.
I hate to sleep.

Re: SDCC 2015
Speaking of hating to sleep: I just tweeted that I would definitely go hang out in the Hall H gypsy camp just to get a taste of the action.
Today was pretty frustrating. First bad day of the trip. Wife got nauseous on the drive here for some reason and son was pretty zonked. Was planning on picking up badges, but shuttle took about 10 minutes too long to get to the convention center
So, now I'll have to wait in line to wait in another line. Oh well.
Agnes Garbowska is my first stop to drop off my Unity Blank for my commission, then I'm going to swing by the Top Cow booth. Then I'm going to try to hang out with some of you crazy people.

Re: SDCC 2015
So been so busy. I messed up my knee a couple weeks ago and all this walking has really been murder. But that being said this morning as I was talking about a panel I was looking forward to (Valiant of course!) and I think I may talk to loud, but a man came over and said hello. The man? Hawkeyeps! I keep meeting Valiant fans because I am so loud. Lol. So cool meeting people after so long. I heard that Dunlow is around.
so much fun. Can't wait for the game! Viva La Valiant!

I'm looking forward to hanging out more. I planned on meeting up with you guys again after I met my wife and son, but we ended up going to the Nintendo Gaming area and never came out until lunch. They went back to the hotel and I texted Sean, but then I was lured into Hall H by an absence of any line at all.Blood of Heroes wrote:Hell yeah! It was good meeting you.lorddunlow wrote:Fun day

The Doctor Who panel had just finished and all the sleepless hall H zombies filed out in droves and as I passed by the con employees in charge of the Hall H line and they were yelling "absolutely no line for Hall H! This never happens!" So, I went in.
Fun panel, too. About Alan Tudyk's Con Man crowd funded show. Nathan Fillion, Wil Wheaton, Tricia Helfer, and more were there. Very funny.

Hmm...I wonder if Valiant will have a movie panel next year? Presumably not "Hall H" level, but something?
Re: SDCC 2015
hall h is reserved for all *SQUEE* panels. so i would think they would have it somewhere elsecjv wrote:Hmm...I wonder if Valiant will have a movie panel next year? Presumably not "Hall H" level, but something?

Re: SDCC 2015
Do you think it would it be less, equally or more ridiculous to get a hotel in Tijuana and travel north for the show? I hear complaints of parking and hotel prices and figure it's got to be cheaper in Mexico but don't know how feasible it would be. Not driving in to the show from Mexico but walking across the border and taking transit in to the show. Just curious.

Re: SDCC 2015
The trolley does end at the border crossing. You'd need a passporto to get back into the US. And it would be a long *SQUEE* ride to downtown. It isn't the worst idea I've ever heard of, but for the distance you'd have to travel you'd be better off finding a hotel far away but still in America. San Ysidro, Chula Vista, and National City aren't anywhere near downtown but still on the trolley route. Sanders and Miss Jay stayed in El Cajon which is way out east and took the trolley in.chriskay99 wrote:Do you think it would it be less, equally or more ridiculous to get a hotel in Tijuana and travel north for the show? To answer your question more succinctly, don't go to TJ. You'll end up getting your head lopped off by the drug cartels.

Thanks for the info, Blood. Last time I went to TJ was in like 2004 and only in daylight hours. Was really just curious but yeah might as well stay in the U.S. for the safety alone.

When I went in 2006, we stayed in San Ysidro at... a Days Inn? Something like that. You could see Tijuana from the balcony. The hotel was reasonably priced and my half for four nights was $186.Blood of Heroes wrote:The trolley does end at the border crossing. You'd need a passporto to get back into the US.
