Yeah, that's what I was wondering.Technique wrote:To the best of my memory he is the first to have his username changed here.slym2none wrote:The poster formerly known here as "architect" and whose real name is Justin, now has the screen name here "justin."
Hope this helps clear things up.

I didn't know you could do that. I guess it's all up to Greg.
Nothing wrong with it IMO but I don't recall it being done before.

i talked with him for a few minutes last night. he should be back in colorado today, and told me he's going to get started getting everything squared away with everyone.

I'm sorry, but I'm dealing with a terminally ill father. A wife that is going through a rough pregnancy. My own business with four employes. And still find time to help out with my daughters class trip to the zoo.......
We're all busy with life and we all have full plates and yet we all find the time to pay our bills and make good on our dealings .
This has gone on way too long. And now Justin is using his woes as an excuse.
Yo Justin! Time to grow up!

i'd just like to point out i never said he's using it as an excuse. he never said "family comes first", i did. that's how i'd view the situation if i was in a similar position. i'm just relaying what i was told. i have no dealings in the works with him or claim to know all of what he owes anyone else. just passing on word that he's been heard from.jedimarley wrote: And now Justin is using his woes as an excuse.

My response has nothing to do with Arch or his specific situation, for the record, but it's beyond irresponsible...and just downright rude...to tell a customer that their concerns...and their money...have little or no importance.daydreamscomics wrote:i talked with him for a few minutes last night.
he is alive and well, but has been dealing with some things in his life that are bigger than comics will ever be. without going into details, family comes first.
he should be back in colorado today, and told me he's going to get started getting everything squared away with everyone.
And just so there's no confusion: "some things in his life that are bigger than comics will ever be. without going into details, family comes first." is telling a customer that their concerns aren't important.
It's not for a seller to decide what IS and what is NOT important to a customer. Comics could be THE MOST important thing in a person's life. It's not the seller's...or anyone else's...place to dismiss what a customer values.
And the reality is: it's someone else's money that's involved, regardless of what it's for. Your family SHOULD be more important than your money, but your family IS NOT more important than MY money, and MY family is not more important than YOUR money...cause WITHOUT my customer's money, my family doesn't get fed.
That's not to say that people don't understand when life happens and things beyond control disrupt a situation....and just WHERE that line is is different for everyone, but the choice is the CUSTOMER'S....not the seller's. It's always the right of the CUSTOMER to decide how patient they'll be; it's INCREDIBLY inappropriate (there's that word again) to TELL a customer that "my life and my situations are more important than you and yours."
And I'll say this twice, so it's not missed, as that's often the case around here...that's not to say that people don't understand when life happens and things beyond control disrupt a situation....but it's not the responsibility of the CUSTOMER to just roll over and accept whatever situation a seller offers, no matter how unreasonable, and if they don't, they're being unfair.
That's the same line of logic that some people use to say "if you disagree with the President, you must not be a patriot."
"If you're concerned about your money, you must be an uncaring jerk."
It's incorrect there, and it's incorrect here.
Even if you DIE...you should still make sure your obligations are met. That's just what a man does.
I continue to be impressed by how little that means to some people.

again, he never said his family was more inportant, or that anyone else's money/trades/etc weren't important. he never said his situation in life was more important than his situation with people on this board.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:My response has nothing to do with Arch or his specific situation, for the record, but it's beyond irresponsible...and just downright rude...to tell a customer that their concerns...and their money...have little or no importance.daydreamscomics wrote:i talked with him for a few minutes last night.

again, i have no dealings in any of this. just relaying information.
family comes first in my book, and that's my opinion. it shouldn't have been incorporated into anything associated with justin's situation.
no need for a "sermon"

YOU did.
But then, as I clearly stated at the beginning, my response had nothing to do with Arch.
My response was directed at YOU.
Lots of people are of the opinion that the earth is a flat disc at the center of the universe, around which the entire universe rotates.again, i have no dealings in any of this. just relaying information.
family comes first in my book, and that's my opinion.
So, yes, opinions can be wrong.
If you think the words "family comes first" absolves people of every kind of responsibility and obligation OUTSIDE family....you're wrong.
it shouldn't have been incorporated into anything associated with justin's situation.

You don't really pay attention much, do you?
I CLEARLY and OBVIOUSLY BEGAN my response stating that this WAS NOT referring to Arch or his situation.
Yes, when people try to "guilt" others by bringing up the "family comes first" and "comics aren't important in the face of <insert current crisis here>", then yes, the sermon IS needed.no need for a "sermon"
Family DOES come first....to a point. That point isn't "eternity."
You played the guilt card...and you played it poorly.
What did you expect?

i never said the situation wasn't out of hand. if i was in the same position as any of the people he owes stuff to, i'd be frustrated/angry/etc as well. i think it's rediculous. i've been packing things and mailing them almost every day for over a year, and know it's just a matter of effort. i know he should have gotten things squared away long before now.jedimarley wrote:Zach. i was just posting to let people know he had been heard from.
i can say that i can relate to his situation over the past three weeks which is what i'm looking at. because i was in a similar boat with the flats. his situation shouldn't be used as an excuse, but i know for a fact it doesn't help.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.
