best point on the page. The kind of money we are talking about is small in the corporate world

ya it is a million to launch 10 titles that could net ya 300 k a month (at 30 issue run each) which is not a far fetched idea

I doubt it—with the 5 Gold Key titles and Jim Shooter on deck DH already has a great start.

Further if the line does well and Shooter remains I think Valiant will have a harder time relaunching any title.

I’m not going to be negative—it would be awesome if DH chose acquire the properties. My only question is why they didn’t so in the first place?

Obviously DH is in the better position to resurrect the Valiant universe we know and love. I still think its a long shot though--wait and see…

At all?
Or just under the current ownership?

Never say never.

When Valiant first launched Magnus and Solar, who would have ever thought those 2 characters would ever be seen again.

In the 1970's, when DC bought the rights to Captain Marvel, nobody saw that coming.

Unless I win the mega-millions (which I don't play much) and buy these properties myself, then I get the feeling this is truly a dead universe. IMHO, if VEI gets any comics out ever, they won't be good.

I am a natural pessimist, don't forget.

I can totally see VEI buying these. Hell, i can even see Image picking them up for the right price. I imagine if they sell again, they will be 1/2 of what VEI paid, at best.

I dunno, they have a lot more sunk in than their initial investment.

If I had it to spend, I'd offer $10 million for the properties and to STFU about them forever.

Then I'd see what Mike R. had to say over at Dark Horse about getting our universe back.

Dude, impossible! If there's one thing you and I have in common above all else it's that we have the right to remain silent, but completely lack the ability to do so.

Nonono... for "VEI" to STFU forever. That's part of what the $10 mill is for, see?

I think content matters, for example if they tie in to anything in the voyager universe they will rise if not they will go up a touch out of new intreast but thats it

I think an incredibly successful launch of a new Shooterverse would bring interest to all his previous universes. (New Universe, Valiant, Defiant, and Broadway)
That's what I expect if this Dark Horse Gold Key launch is incredibly successful. If the books are as good as early Valiant I expect this launch to be incredibly successful at some point.
Just one fan's opinion.
