I'm getting it anyway for Shadowman 13X ... but i'm suspicious about this Unity 1/2 offer. Just need to see some more info on it and confirmation that this is real.

Maybe since 1/2 was Wizard's thing, and X seems to be Bleeding Cool's thing, it will become Unity #X (where "#" is an issue number)?

Makes sense, and x2 promo books for one issue seems like overkill in hindsight (and hey, everything is easier to judge with hindsight), especially with the price drop as well.

It will be cool if this does happen for a Unity issue. I always liked the Wizard #1/2 issues. I know they were gimmicks and all, but it felt a little special. Sending in coupons was like when you saved box tops for send offs. Sure, you could just buy something similar for probably less than you paid for the shipping and less work, but the earning it made it cool.

Yes, and it appears that the image in the first post was linked rather than uploaded separately, so now that it's been updated at the source it references the Shadowman issue.

It is solicited in the current issue of Previews, so presumably in October.
