Exactly. I pretty much gave up with trying to get all the store variants, especially since shipping will be a good percentage of the cost to get them all. At least there seem to be a limited number of con variants, so those might be manageable. I'd just like to have opportunity to order books in one place. Add to that that there's not s reliable database of all of these books, and you can never be sure that you even have a complete collection.DirtbagSailor wrote:Convention Exclusives are an interesting but to crack.Ramses818 wrote:So I saw A&A 1% on the list, how about a couple other ghosts? I ask about Rai 8 Sears variant (I have one and have never found another) or the summer of Valiant trade? Not to mention some of the very rare convention exclusives...just wondering. I do understand that it maybe because of low sales volume but I love to throw things out there..lol
Imagine if back in 2012 at C2E2 a exclusive for X-O Manowar #1 was released with an iconic Virgin B&W sketch cover depicting Bob Layton’s original 1992 pencils/inks that was limited to only 100 copies.
What if this was the ONLY exclusive for that book? Attainable? Desired? Rare?
Absolutely. Let’s have an eBay battle!![]()
However, when book has 20-40 “rare(ish)” exclusives, it is likely that only VERY FEW hard core collectors will have the funds, time, and motivation to hunt them all.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Great points all. If I remember correctly most con variants were at least 1000, with the exception of the BART Sears Vegas con at 500? It’s been a while so I could be wrong..lol. It was just something I was wondering about. Kind of like the hardcover books with the tip page with signatures, I know they were limited as well... ooh the fun of speculation..lol

Meanwhile, with a print run of only 500 copies...
One of the BEST covers for this book, yet, collectors are NOT jumping all over it. Shame really, but it seems to be how the ball bounces (at least at this point).
