Yeah, you handled the scouring durn good. Hope you'll stick around and post with us. 2 things: Have you encountered the VcVSS phenomenom yet and have you checked out the link in whetteon's sig?myron wrote:No doubt bro...thought this was sure to be a degrading thread and eventual TO fodder...Brother J wrote:Kudos to nvidia19 for keeping his cool in replying to the first couple posts in this thread, which were a tad harsh towards him. welcome...good luck with your auction

I DO NOT EAT, DRINK OR ABSORB SOULS, DAMMIT!
so far some decent offers -- $500.00, $599.00& $650.00 -- nothing strange. Last week though on that whole Harb lot, I did get a $10.00 offerckb wrote:Nice to see you posting! Hate to see you sell such a rare thing as the Harb 1, though. I hope you get to keep it, although if the BIN is hit it will be good enough consolation.
Be sure to tell all of us about the "best offers" you get. Has the "$35, shipped" come in yet??

(See your PM buddy for that other stuff)
Thanks for the recognition Bro J --Brother J wrote:Kudos to nvidia19 for keeping his cool in replying to the first couple posts in this thread, which were a tad harsh towards him. Most of the new people we've had on the boards lately would have had a s#!t fit! Welcome to the boards!
I actually prefer negative input more so than positive. I know I do allot of things "great" as a seller with respect to service and how I communicate, respect, and treat the customers that purchase goods from me.
But I am only interested in how I can make improvements or please as many people as possible. Thats the nice thing about eBay in that its a unique place where you can meet all kinds of individuals from various walks of life and backgrounds.
My take is being critical and skeptical is only sometimes basic human nature, so I would certainly not take offense to that.

Very much appreciate the welcome.400yrs wrote:Welcome aboard!!![]()
I got a question for ya: Why is it $20 priority shipping for those two books on top of the high price you'll undoubtedly get for them (especially since you are more visible by posting here)?
Regarding the postage charge; well for one, keep in mind, that $20.00 Priority includes $1100.00 worth of insurance which is more than half of the $20.00. Also if you ever receive a comic from me, you would understand the true meaning of "nuke proof." For this particular auction, these two slabs will be triple boxed, so when you think about it, less than $9.00 of actual postage for a package like that in 2 days will most likely mean I actually have to pitch in a few bucks of my own coin to cover a little bit, especially if its going on the opposite coast from me.
Thanks also for your question.
Thank you!!!!!myron wrote:No doubt bro...thought this was sure to be a degrading thread and eventual TO fodder...Brother J wrote:Kudos to nvidia19 for keeping his cool in replying to the first couple posts in this thread, which were a tad harsh towards him. Yep. Lyria is a great great concept. I am very familiar with that site. Can you imagine back in the Valiant hay day if there really was an actual exchange where there was liquidity and you could buy and sell those things day in and day out??X-O HoboJoe wrote:

As far as the VcVSS phenom, you mean the signature stuff right??? The only notable stuff I had at one point was some RAI FF which I believe was signed by Sean -- I think

Whats the latest scoop on that?? What are you holding or anyone for that matter who cares to chime in??

Because it keeps your clientele list from being made available to the world. Lots of times, people just like to transact business without everyone knowing what they're buying, and from whom, especially when you deal in 'big ticket' items. You will not BELIEVE the amount of spam I've gotten every single time I buy a large dollar (read: greater than $500) item. It's just absurd, with thieves and cheats taking advantage of the system to 'offer' me high priced fraud, especially if it's a seller they know usually deals in big ticket items.davidb wrote:That's what I was suspicious of (other than the obvious gouging on the prices). If you've got 100% positive, and the feedback meter says that he does, why hide it? What did somebody say about you that you don't want everybody else to see?DawgPhan wrote:I really dont care for the private feedback. Having FEEDBACK private ensures that I can leave feedback for the seller without fear of morons trying to contact me to sell me crap or try and defraud me.
Granted, that's what the private AUCTION is for, but seeing who buys from whom can occasionally cause problems.
ALSO....if you deal in 'adult' materials, keeping feedback private is a good way to actually receive feedback without revealing what it is you're dealing in, and, more importantly, who's buying it, for the most part.
It's a valid system, and the percentage assures that there aren't a bunch of negatives lurking below the (invisible) surface.

I am not trying to gouge anyone. At one point in time with market conditions, these prices would be considered reaonsable. I know because I paid more. As far as the feedback goes, well to be quite frank and honest; for one its none of my intrusive ex-wife's business what I am doing on eBay. And also due to the fact that recently I have sold high end computer related items and such, my previous auction winners were receiving bogus solicitations and various other kinds of creative correspondences, I decided to roll with the private feedback for now. This is not something I have done historically speaking.

Also a great way for shill bidding to take place and for you to be a known con and people not be able to warn your buyers of your past...ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Heh. comic-keys has a very high percentage on feedback, but I would not think that many think highly of him.

I should be able to quote people by now.

I absolutely concur with you here. Private feedback with private bidding is a huge red flag no doubt and would be suspect at best. That is why my bidding is public, but in any case, thanks to your feedback and woo's, its clearly evident that I am gonna just have to trash this handle. I really dont see a way to please everyone with respect to you the potential customer and me with my logistical problems.DawgPhan wrote:Also a great way for shill bidding to take place and for you to be a known con and people not be able to warn your buyers of your past...ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:

Since we appear to be farming out advice to nvidia here - ditch the shipping charge. With an BIN for this much money, even the shipping you describe pales next to the price. The last thing I want to do when buying a $1000 item that is 9x12x0.5 and 2 pounds is tack on a shipping charge.
At worst, build it into the BIN if your margin is thin or nonexistant or negative.

Of course...but that much was obvious in your first post. What Myron (was it Myron...?) was wondering is what POSITIVE reason could there be for private feedback...and I explained it.DawgPhan wrote:Also a great way for shill bidding to take place and for you to be a known con and people not be able to warn your buyers of your past...ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Heh.
