I managed to get about 18 books unscathed. Again, a list as soon as I get time. I picked them up in Chicago. Big one in there for me was a Vintage Magnus 1 9.8.
So I guess that we are talking about this now?

Yes, seems like it's all worked out, so I can't see why not.DawgPhan wrote:ckb wrote:I'll post a full list as soon as I get time. They killed a double signed Nichols/Shooter Magnus 2 9.6. That was the worst loss.

Oh yeah that is the BIG difference between CGC and the other guys..CGC makes mistakes, but they make sure everything is taken care of. They handle everything in a very professional manner..Of course the doesnt mean that there slab doesnt cause damage to the comics that are slabbed, because it does. I think that their new well will probably cause even more problems with books since it pinches the cover and could cause staple pulls which I bet was the problem with ckb's books.Peter Parker wrote:Been there brother'ckb wrote:Yes, seems like it's all worked out, so I can't see why not.DawgPhan wrote:ckb wrote:I'll post a full list as soon as I get time. They're no longer using the new well on Valiants, FWIW. They believe that books with cover stock heavier than the pages are going to be problematic when using the new inner well.DawgPhan wrote:Oh yeah that is the BIG difference between CGC and the other guys..CGC makes mistakes, but they make sure everything is taken care of. That is a tough way to figure out something that seemed fairly obvious to anyone but CGC...hmmm lets pinch the cover of a book and hope that the insides dont move also...Either way you slice it cgc cases can damage a book. Either with staple pulls or blunted corners...which would you perfer..me I would rather have a blunted corner over a pulled staple..ckb wrote:They're no longer using the new well on Valiants, FWIW. Seems like an expensive mistake since I am sure that they dint pay "guide" for those books. I bet they asked if they could though...

Actually...much to my surprise...they did not argue with a single value I assigned to any of the books. Granted, I am very reasonable when it comes to selling prices on 9.6s. Still, though, it was nice not to have to argue at all about it.DawgPhan wrote:That is a tough way to figure out something that seemed fairly obvious to anyone but CGC...hmmm lets pinch the cover of a book and hope that the insides dont move also...Either way you slice it cgc cases can damage a book. I agree with you about the other stuff. I am not a fan of the new inner well, and I do not think the 'heavy cover stock' explains it completely.

That's right, they bought them from me and did not send them to me. I assume they are toilet paper. I hope they were removed from the census.DawgPhan wrote:That is good hear. I knew they would make good on it and I wouldnt blame them for trying to pay "guide" for those books. Glad you got what you wanted for them, but sorry they are out of circulation. Did those books ever even hit the census? I guess that cgc now has all of those slabs right?

What do I put in for account #?greg wrote:You mean a member of the Collector's Society?oldjello wrote:How many board members are CGC members?
I'm not.
You save more money by "not joining" and just submitting your comics
using a "discount link" like this one:
http://www.cgccomics.com/index_cobrand. ... filiate=GP
You send your books directly to CGC, and they send them directly back to you...
but you get the discount because you "mentioned the right people".

Nothing this time. They will assign you an account number when they grade the books. You can then use that account number from there on. I believe it just helps them pull up all your info faster.. thats it.
