[HELP] Is this eBay request legit?

Post by danthecomicman »

Hey guys - when I try to log into eBay, I get the following page:

https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... UsingSSL=1

HAVE PPL ON THE BOARDS WHO USE EBAY COMPLETED THE FORM?

I am concerned that it's phishing and not legit for the following reasons:
1. They use the phrase "Please enter as more information as possible..." Usually poor English is a sign of phishing.

2. There's "?" at various places on the page.

3. The nature of the info requested.

Any info/experience on this is appreciated. I recall a 1-800 number for eBay being posted here earlier.... anyone have it still?

Thanks!
Dan W

Not too sure about that, I would go direct to ebay, then login to be sure

Where did you get that link? Some quick testing at eBay shows that there should be "signIn" after the ? of the URL. If not, eBay says the page is missing.

Given that I was not redirected to the suspicious webpage when I used another computer, I think my PC was either hijacked or infected. Running a virus scan and spyware scan seemed to have done the trick.

Thanks for everyone who replied and PM'd me.

Cheers,
D.
