I'm actually puzzled by the fact that Jim Shooter hasn't made an appearance here, yet. The man's worked so hard to create a legacy, and here we are, celebrating it. I can understand if Valiant is a tainted memory for him, but if he just looked at the board, he'd realize we're mostly fans of his work on the titles. Has Greg ever tried to contact him?[/b]

You really think someone would use Jim Shooter's email address to subscribe to this board?greg wrote:But, I won't necessarily judge a book by its cover... er... its email address.
That be pretty low...

No, what I'm saying is that the email address used to register "Shooter"ManofTheAtom wrote:You really think someone would use Jim Shooter's email address to subscribe to this board?greg wrote:But, I won't necessarily judge a book by its cover... er... its email address.

is something that a teenager would create on a site like hotmail.com,
it is NOT something I would suspect belonged to the real Jim Shooter.

Shooter uses his public aol account for such things. It;s his "filter o' spam"greg wrote:No, what I'm saying is that the email address used to register "Shooter" is something that a teenager would create on a site like hotmail.com, it is NOT something I would suspect belonged to the real Jim Shooter.

Why doesn't someone email an intelligent question to "shooter's" email and see if he responds?

SHoot
I emailed Shooter last year '03 before Thanksgiving and had a few nice Email chats with him... He actually knew who I was from playing ball in High School/college, haha.
He was then and had been aware of this site for some time, however he was working on several new projects for Phobos.
After my emails he met a few board members at a book signing in NY for that book "Everything but the Girl"... or something like that. Seems he's very aware of this board and has visited it many times. He just didn't give the impression he was terribly interested.
Perhaps Van Hook or some other creative personalities could persuade him to get involved?
Ultimately, in spite of our best efforts he may simply not be inerested in Valiant anymore? Did I just say that? If anyone must love Valiant it's gotta be Jim.
Perhaps we can send him a copy of the Bloodshot 2004 either before or after it's completion to get the Shooter stamp of approval and maybe have him write a foreword or something. Either way I can't imagine him being displeased with us remaining DEFIANT and keeping this movement... moving.
Jus my 2 cents.

i can't see jim shooter signing up and not letting us know he was here.
i mean, if he wanted to sign up and keep a low profile then he wouldn't choose "shooter" as his log in name.
i think it's either a fan or someone who liked that new johnny depp movie...wasn't there a bad guy in it named shooter?
could also be michael douglass's character from basic instinct...lol

I would personally advise against telling shooter about the Bloodshot 2004 project, I wouldn't take him to be the kind of guy who'd really appreciate it. But I could be dead wrong, and they'll probably be a whole bunch of people who are ready to respond that I am.
What happens if Harada shows up to be a real guy, do we have to delete accounts of character names? What about Steven Tyler? Does he get to have his character name? Walt Willy?
Okay, I was just having fun
