Any good finds lately?
I just picked up several great FF issues lately. I was totally stoked on what I found.
I had to pass on the Secret Weapons issues though.....

I picked up a chunk of Acclaim Era stuff... more expensive than I was hoping for at a buck each, but I have this bad habit of letting my wants overcome my better business sense. Anyway, I nabbed several Armed & Dangerous issues, along with a bunch of random post-Chaos Effect titles.

Not sure if this quite qualifies as "Bargain Bin" finds, but I did nab a few TBPs at three bucks each: MRF: Invasion, RAI and X-O Manowar Retribution.
They had the blue RAI TBP variant, but the guy told me the black version was the rare one so I got that. Then I checked here and learned it was the other way around. D'oh!

Don't listen to that guy again. Oh, nice price for the Magnus Invasion. It would be hard to find one any cheaper than that.X-O Dudeowar wrote:Not sure if this quite qualifies as "Bargain Bin" finds, but I did nab a few TBPs at three bucks each: MRF: Invasion, RAI and X-O Manowar Retribution.

Word, live and learn. He talked the talk, so I mistakenly assumed that meant he knew his stuff. I'll have to see if it's still there next time I can get out there.Daniel Jackson wrote:Don't listen to that guy again. Oh, nice price for the Magnus Invasion. They had two RAI Blues, a few Retributions, and I'm pretty sure they even had another Invasion. I'm thinkin' I should just grab 'em all and use 'em for trades or something here, share the wealth.

I would too, you can't get hurt at those prices.X-O Dudeowar wrote:Word, live and learn. He talked the talk, so I mistakenly assumed that meant he knew his stuff. Those are great prices. I would definitely trade a gold issue for that Invasion trade.X-O Dudeowar wrote:Not sure if this quite qualifies as "Bargain Bin" finds, but I did nab a few TBPs at three bucks each: MRF: Invasion, RAI and X-O Manowar Retribution.

I know that these aren't Valiants, but I am pretty stoked from a call I just hung up on with CGC. Last month I snagged Amazing Spider-Man #51-150 (2 copies of #129), Annuals 1-7, and Giant-Size #1-5 for $2500. The run averages around VF/VF+ in condition. I submitted a bunch to CGC for slabbing and the first 8 will be coming back this week as follows:
#71 - 9.4 (OW/W pages)
#82 - 9.2 (OW/W pages)
#108 - 9.6 (OW/W pages)
#111 - 9.4 (W pages)
#119 - 9.6 (W pages)
#129 - 9.0 (W pages) - this was the lower grade copy
#136 - 9.4 (OW/W pages)
#137 - 9.4 (OW/W pages)
Based on these results I am going to send in more books than I had originally planned to.
Cheers,
Skiw

Very nice. $25 a book sounded high, but with those type of grades, it sounds like a steal.skiw wrote:I know that these aren't Valiants, but I am pretty stoked from a call I just hung up on with CGC. My LCS had an after Thanksgiving sale. Went there all three days and picked up a ton of stuff, nearly a longbox full. The quarter bin stuff was all at 10 for a buck. I picked up much of the Valiant stuff in there and did some serious damage in terms of Malibu/Bravura/Ultraverse. Out of the 50 cent bin ($1 books were half off), got about 10 Unity #0 blues and a ton of others. Nothing truly $$$ was in the bins, but the Unity's were nice and the huge stack of Unity stuff was cool. Got most of the Starlin Breed books too.
