Who has the best price & availability for the Harbinger

Post by DK2 »

I'm sick of this not getting any results for the Harbinger HC. On other threads about the book everyone lists these online mail order sites, and yet when I look and do a search, I can't find the book. As of now, Amazon.com still hasn't put the discount back on the book, Barnes & Noble always says its unavailable. If anyone can please provide actual links for the book, please post them. I can't see that I'm doing a bad job on the search options. I'm in Canada and really want the best price for my spending. I actually don't wish to exceed on the $25 US or $27 CAN cover prices, thats after shipping is included. Thats my problem. I may sound picky but I don't wish to spend to much on the book neither.
Any help from anyone would be great. thanks.

I got my Harbinger HC today from Amazon. I ordered it online about a week ago, it is already here and I only paid $20.46 TOTAL, this included the shipping.

Don't worry, you're not the only one waiting. I still haven't heard from DCBS or my LCS yet.

DJ........did your shop place their order from Valiant Retailer Direct? My shop is expecting their books to arrive no later than next week. He was told that books could take up to 10 days to arrive from the time orders are placed. You can bet VEI is working hard to reduce that window as much as possible.

The cost previously listed ($16 something) was a preorder discounted price. The release date has passed so we may not see that heavy of a discount for this book for awhile. Certainly is curious that Amazon currently isn't offering any discount at all. :?

Hopefully you receive a positive response. The VRD ordering process is supposed to be pretty easy according to my dealer. He also ordered extra copies for the store as well. BTW, he is hearing from Diamond that orders placed for the hardcover WILL be filled. Can anyone else confirm that is Diamond's position on this?

Same here. I'm waiting for mine from DCBS and Lonestar. I thought DCBS got it straightened around and were going to start shipping them out?
I just know the minute I order it from Amazon I'll get my other copies in the mail :?

Did you order it before it came out by any chance? Maybe a pre-order oppurtunity? Just wondering why you got yours for the lower price like someone else menitioned? Maybe you recieved yours after after a recent restock by amazon.com? Just my two cents. But more and more I'm getting disapointed. This new Valiant looks like its off to a rocky start. If your fans/readers can't get the product, then I guess we just don't get it. Everyone posting here still hasn't menioned any good places to buy it from, cause it seems these places don't even have it. Good job Valiant.
And their own VRD don't work for international orders/retailers. I don't mean to put them down, but you can't but see how peeved I am about all this. Pretty much only Americans can get this book. They aren't even offering on their VE ebay store. Its a lost cause for me, its starting to look like.

There was an error last week that put the Harbinger hardcovers back on Diamond's "upcoming" lists.
However, Diamond has said they will not be filling those orders.

So, first they cancelled the book at the last second...
then they had an error that made it look like the books would be in this week.
Neither of the actions by Diamond is getting the books in people's hands.

Amazon should have lots of books soon... and any retailers using VRD should get theirs quickly, too.
(Some of the retailers are members on this site... so if you're looking to support someone...) :thumb:

I ordered mine on the 28th of August and as I wrote only paid $20.46. If I can get my hands on one, I will be more than glad to mail it to you or somehow get it ordered, send it to me and I will send it out to you. (I think I have a 'pretty good' reputation around here so no worries) Give it some thought. :thumb:

Check out this e-mail I just got from Amazon -
Hello from Amazon.com.

We're writing about the order you placed on August 27 2007 12:45 PDT
(Order# 104-7831055-1865500). Unfortunately, we are unable to ship the
item(s) as soon as we
expected and need to provide you with a new estimate of when the item(s)
may be delivered:

Jim Shooter (Author), David Lapham (Illustrator) "Harbinger: The
Beginning" [Hardcover]
Estimated arrival date: 10/11/2007 - 10/26/2007

We need you to approve the new delivery day by October 05 2007, or we
will cancel the item(s) from your order if they have not shipped by
then. Please visit the
Order Update page in Your Account at the address below to approve the
delay for the
unavailable item(s):

http://www.amazon.com/

By approving the new delivery estimate, you are letting us know that
you still want the item(s) though they may arrive later than expected.
If there are other items in your order, they will ship according to the
delivery estimates listed in the order details in Your Account
(http://www.amazon.com/your-account).

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay.

*****
WHY WAS THE DELIVERY ESTIMATE CHANGED?
While we do our best to adhere to these estimates, our inventory is
constantly
changing based on information we receive directly from our suppliers.
Occasionally,
unexpected fluctuations in supply or changes in release dates for new
products will
add time to our original availability estimate.

*****
OCTOBER? FREAKING OCTOBER???

This is unbelievable - I ordered mine the same time a bunch of us did (as soon as we heard about Diamond's announcement) and this is what I get. The kicker is, goto the "My Account" page there, and there is no "Order Update" page anywhere, and checking my past orders, there is nothing. No recent orders, nothing in my cart, nothing recently ordered or shipped.

Total BS, folks... I really have little patience, and this sucks up what little I have in reserve.

Looks like Zach is now my only hope.

You would think that Amazon could get a fresh supply from VEI faster than that.

The morning I read the announcement I ordered it from Amazon. Price shipped was $20.46 like everyone else has said.
Got an email a day later saying shipping would be delayed until 9/11 - 9/15.
Then received mine this past Tuesday (9/4).

It's cool!! :D

Hope everyone gets theirs soon!

Interesting. I'm tempted to order from Amazon again just as an experiment to see how long it takes.

What shipping method did you select?

I got my August DCBS order, no Harbinger Hardcover. My packing invoice said it was on backorder and will be shipped out when they receive it.
