I had to look at the picture through GIMP, but I agree with RQB. The gold has more brown in the pigmentation than the yellow.

...I also learned what model scanner you used when I did that. A dialogue box popped up asking if I wanted to convert the embedded colour file.

GIMP stands for the GNU Image Manipulation Program.

The one on the left is the Gold edition.

The easiest way to tell (in person) is to grab a copy of Prologue Gold, or Blue Gold, etc.,
from your collection and compare them to these Deathmate Yellows.

(Of course, if you don't own any other Deathmate Gold issues, it won't work.)

The Deathmate Yellow is actually a Green/Yellow, Lemon/Lime color...
while the Deathmate Yellow Gold is Gold/Bronze/Browny.
(These are technical terms.)
