I can't believe Lori and the baby died. I mean, I knew some major characters were going to bite it in this issue, but I never figured Lori and the baby would. Maybe one or the other, but not both. Man, that sucks.
Looks like Rick and Carl are the only ones who made it out. And now they're on their own again. Other than Carl dying, I don't see how it can get much worse for Rick. That man has been through hell.
At least the Governor got his in the end.

BY FAR the best issue of the series. no letdown whatsoever. to me it's like #49 is the start of a new book.
holy *SQUEE* it was nuts
i had to reread it twice to take it all in.
interesting thing to note: given that death = zombism, rick's wife and baby will be kicking around soon enough...wonder if they will run into each other in the future?

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of, but the zombies probably ripped the baby to pieces, and the shotgun blast tore through Lori so bad that it pretty much cut her in half. So if she does show up again (which I doubt she will), she'll be crawling on her belly.daydreamscomics wrote:BY FAR the best issue of the series. no letdown whatsoever. to me it's like #49 is the start of a new book.

I think Rick and Carl will probably come across some more good people in some small community or shelter and fit in with them, like he did the others.

I have to say guys, i have never in over 30 years of reading comics been more shocked by the content of a comic.
I drove for an hour after after reading it and i was numb.
When they killed Cap i found myself not caring even though i thought CW was probably the best thing Marvel ever did in crossover terms.
Superman and Batman Mishaps in the 90's were similar in terms of marketing and speculator hype.
So given that the world in which the WD characters live is as harsh a world as you could ever care to live in and the sales on the TPB's are massive each month and top three sellers, you might have thought some noise would be made.
However, Kirkman made no such war cry for his sales which i find really cool.
Back to the issue though.
Andrea Glenn Dale and maggie might well have survived.
We saw Andrea fall off the RV but then the focus was on the prison and she was hurt but was mobile. Dale was smashed into by another vehicle and we didnt see the outcome. As for glenn and maggie?
I think the next issue as far as the cover teaser goes will focus on Rick and Carl, with the following issue tracking back to see the prison aftermath.
Michonne anyone?
Overall still reeling from by far the best comic you will read this month already, but dont let that stop you from picking up Kick *SQUEE*.

Michonne is definitely alive, but she wasn't at the prison. Maybe she'll meet up with Rick and Carl out in the woods somewhere.djwatson23 wrote:what about andrea, dale, glen, and maggie? and of course michonne!
The others could be alive, but I'm not holding my breath. The only ones who we know got out for sure are Rick and Carl.
