Hey! This auction is for a copy of Unity #1 GOLD from Valiant Comics. Valiant published a couple of comics a long time ago, mostly which aren't really worth remembering but a few (Psi-Lords, The Outcast, Punx) remain cult favorites and are still popular to this day amongst a small group of people who really don't have lives (much less girlfriends).
Valiant GOLD books were given out as incentives for people who went above and beyond the call of duty to promote Valiant Comics (usually at the expense of any potential dates with females). These books were very sought after due to this rarity and often sold for lots of money in the early-to-mid 1990's. All the people who paid those ridiculous prices have gone bankrupt due to these and other bad decisions and more than likely jumped out of windows at this point and now their bereaved loved ones are making them available to you at a fraction of their original cost.
Disclaimer: This book, while admittedly very shiny, contains no actual gold.
This book is in great shape (which is surprising when you look at the rest of my collection) partly due to the fact that I had no idea I had the thing until I was going through some boxes recently and found it.

I was just about to send an ebay message to this seller when i read the rest of the thread and realised it was Tim.
My message was.
Hi there, i thought what you wrote in the title description was hilarious and just wanted to let you know it provided me with a great laugh this morning.
Also i thought i would point you in the direction of this great site index.php
so you could see how the all the guys lacking lives and girlfriends spend their time chatting about Psi-Lords, The Outcast and Punx.
cheers
Draco
Im kind of gutted at the same time that i didnt get to send my message to someone who had no idea what they were saying, but i was so amused by what Tim wrote im still laughing.
