Predator vs. Magnus was the one that caught my eye on the shelf. I wasn't collecting comics when the earlier stuff came out.

Does the Super Mario Brothers Special Edition count? Cause that was my first...then a jump for joy when my corny *SQUEE* letter was printed in SMB #2.

The first 'Valiant' Valiant I read was the first Unity issue of Magnus...though I have no clue off the top of my head what number that is.

Archer and Armstrong 0

Incredibly different story and art than I was used to, and I loved it.

My first was Rai 3. I still think it is one of the most eye catching covers ever. I took it home read it and went back to the store the same day for more Valiant. The store still had Magnus 1-11, Harbinger 1-4, Solar 1-8, and X-O 1-3, Rai 1-2 at cover price.

I have been trying to kick the habit ever since.

Mine was Magnus 12, because a friend said "this company is bringing back old characters." That and the female dinosaur hunter/vixen was hot and I was young. But who could argue that Mayo cover rules also

Magnus #1, right on the day it came out!

(Actually, it was probably two weeks later, since I live in Greece and the books take about that much time to get here) :(

Magnus 12 was mine. I bought it to get the address out of it to send off pencilling samples and felt guilty not buying the book!

I bought A&A #0 and the first half of the Unity chapters all at once. The A&A #0 was the first Valiant I ever read though. At the time I think it was Wizard that convinced me to give Valiant a try interestingly enough.

Similar story here. I walked into my LCS one day, and the lady walks over to the rack and yanks the last Magnus #1. She says "you want this." I was skeptical, but she said if I didn't like it I could bring it back for a refund. I was back a couple days later asking her if she'd start saving Magnus issues for me. Luckily she ordered some extras, since the Previews was always (of course) a few months ahead. Once I read the issue front to back, I learned a little more about Valiant and how they were just starting out, so I just have to have'em all! Thank you comics shop lady, without her I wouldn't have got in on the ground floor!

Man....this brings back memories. X-O#1. I'd actually had everything pretty much pre-unity by the early spring of 1992, but I like to get all the issues and read them at once, so I know I had Harb #1-7 at least.

And I didn't read a thing of Unity until I'd read everything before, so I didn't get around to READING Unity until maybe September. ;)

I remember being such a geek that I actually laid out Solar #1-#10, opened to the middle page, and panelled them all together to see 'the world's biggest panel' all at once. God, that was almost 12 YEARS ago!

Ok, fess up....who else did/has done that? :)
