So, I never buy this kind of stuff. I haven't bought an action figure for myself in a loooooooong time.

But when I saw this, it was so frickin' cool I had to get it:

I am so far out of the DC loop that I have no idea what this pertains to. If you have any further info I would love to hear it. Is there a story pertaining to this? Was it some sort of Elseworld?

There was an issue (#9 of the current series) where Hal gave Batman his green Lantern ring to try out.

Batman gave it a whirl for about two seconds then gives it back.

So, yeah. This is based on a couple panels in a comic book, so it is basically irrelevant to continuity, but it just looks pretty cool.

That it does. Pretty interesting story, too. Thanks for the response.

There was also an Elseworlds (In Darkest Knight?) where Batman got a ring, but his bat-ears were not as pronounced as on that figure.

Yep, that's it. I picked up the book when it first came out, good story.

Rebirth was excellent. I've been meaning to pick up on the regular series as well, but the issues are a bit pricey right now. Think I'll wait awhile and see if I can pick them up for cheap later.

ok, the REAL story goes something like...GL was down on his luck and had to pawn his ring, Batman the savvy shopper he is was looking for a present for his secret lover commissioner Gordon and went to said pawn shop. Found the ring tried it on for 2 seconds....then you now know the rest as its explained in an earlier post... :thumb:

The first few aren't that awesome. They are good, don't get me wrong, but it isn't until the One Year Later issues that things really pick up and start to build to where they are now. I think that first One Year Later issue is number 10. From 10 on is a big build up to the Sinestro Corps War, and moreso, to Darkest Night coming up next year.

Agreed, I like the Elseworlds stuff. I read Detective #27 recently and thought that was pretty neat.

This is open to debate of course, but I'd say that the two best books being released right now are GL and Ms. Marvel.
Odd combo, I know, but I'm stone serious.

The last Ms. Marvel was really good . . with her reveling in killing all the skrulls . . . bringing out the warrior part of her personality . . . good stuff . . .
