The only one I can't find is the one they used for Shadowman.

Ashley Wood drew the SM one I'll ask him what cover it was a copycat one at SDCC.

In case he gets confused, remind him that there were two covers, the Swamp Thing version and this one.

Are you 100% sure that Magnus is an homage to Doctor Solar 1?

I mean, I realize that MotA is 100% sure, but is there anyone else that is? The books are similar but those other covers are much closer.

I'm not sure at all. It was just the closest match I could find. After I looked at the Solar covers and saw that none of them came close to the Magnus cover, I based my choice on the text.

I'm sure that most of those Off the wall covers that aren't Marvel had other covers drawn like Ninjak but because DC refused to let Acclaim do this copycat covers to there line they had to improvise.

Yep.

Magnus was Action Comics #1 and Trinity Angeles was Superman #123.

DC didn't want Acclaim to be DC Lite, heh.

I saw one or two at Mile High that were similar but not quite there.

It's like the basic design was used more than once. I'm sure that there is a specific cover to go with the Shadowman version.

I just emailed Ashley Wood I hope he can put this thing to bed because now it's bugging me.

Did they have those drawn already, and then had to redraw them? If so, it would be cool to see their ideas were.

Yeah, the Magnus one, if it is supposed to be that cover, isn't done very well. I mean, the characters are on the opposite sides of the page!

And Trinity Angels is just...well...dumb. But I suppose that could be said about any Trinity Angels book?

Those covers appeared in Previews when the copycat cover month issues were solicited.

That's DC lite for you... (though it's more like Marvel lite as Marvel did a similar stunt - their Flashback month - at the same time).

I could've sworn that I had a copy of Trinty Angles #5 that had the homage/rip-off cover to Superman #123, but even IF
I did have it I was forced to sell it about 2 years ago, so I can't be sure.
