does this ever happen to you?
i was just trying to pull my harbinger books to re-read them, and for some dang reason i'm missing a bunch! i would suspect foul play, and immediately begin assailing you guys with insults assuming one of you had broken into my home BUT it's not any important issues...1-4 are still there, even #10 (first hard corps!) it's 17-25. can't find 'em anywhere....but while looking i realized that archer and armstrong 15-25 are awol as well.
one of you guys looking to finish your set?
just kidding, but sometimes i don't put stuff back where it goes, and this is what happens...does this happen to anyone else?
i mean with comics, not car keys!
i don't even remember trying to re-read these!

My biggest problem is getting the comics in the boxes to begin with! But after they get there, no, I haven't had that problem...

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

when i was living in michigan, i was buying tons of books, from the $1 and 1/4 bins...but when you can get so many books for that price, why would you buy a new long box....so yeah, i've been there too. i think i consolidated some books before we moved, i was thinking that i might sell off alll my post-unity valiant and only a handful of other books...but i really can't explain what might've happened to these books. my magnus and solar and rai books are all still right where they belong, and i know i wasn't planning on getting rid of those.

I have been reoganizing the collection the last few days and the gremlins have been in my collection as well. I don't have anything of value so it is all early-mid 90's stuff that there are a zillion copies of out there, so there is no motive for thievery but yeah...I am having the same problem.
Like 2 of my alt covers of X-Men #1 are gone...I am never going to replace those damn things but there goes my friggin' set!
and Spiderman 2-3 are missing. Seems like the Underpants Gnomes are diversifying their *SQUEE* portfolio.

yeah, definitely. i know that i did read harbinger all the way up to #25-and i even had a reader copy of #25. plus i had three of issue #17. i'm not sure why, although it was one of my favorites, because it was a rare good story toward the end...with simon the boy with invisible powers. i thought it was very moving at the end, when pete realized this kid really was better off at the h foundation.Daniel Jackson wrote: Are you certain you had all of them to begin with?
i've misplaced some elfquest books too, and again, it's not like this stuff is valuable to anyone in their right mind (!) (which is why i've held on to it for 10-15 years!!!)

I am missing Eternal Warrior... 13 and 14?
I might hold off on getting them just to avoid the Hard Corps Horde of Death.
I think you've earned the Cursed Horde of Completion.

thankfully all 7 of my shadowman 15's were still there.
i honestly don't know how i accumulate so much stuff sometimes. i know that 2-3 issues were tossed in to a lot that i won, but as for the other 5?
i was thinking that it would be cool if the board decided to hoard one particular issue (randomly) that has no value whatsoever, just to see how many we could accumulate, and then to laugh as noobs came along and were like, dude why can't i ever find freakin x-o #41?!?!!

but that's part of the problem-since we just moved i either know exactly where stuff is, or i don't have a clue. you know what i mean? i looked through every long box, even the kids comics, and came up with nothing.
it's kinda weird. i had so much stuff in odd spots it was driving me crazy!
i had broadway in a separate box from defiant, i had batman in with crossgen, oddball stuff i picked up only because it was signed...i had x-o in my a-e box...just total chaos! but all the comics are in with comics-except those 10-20 issues i mentioned. i know i sold an entire long box of stuff i was trying to get rid of (stuff that had been given to me that i couldn't throw out!)...i hope they weren't in there, but that's the only guess i can make at this point.

Still missing a Solar 60 (it should be in the mail).
Say, wasn't that one of the ones you pulled out of my LCS?

If you're thinking of a final issue that I got it would be a Harby 41.Chiclo wrote:Nope.TKWill wrote:The same thing has happened to me on more than one occassion. I think I am officially done. I will check later.Chiclo wrote:Same thing happened to me recently.

I also got couple of Turoks (one went back to you), Shadowman TPB, and X-O 10.
If I would have know I would have given you a Solar 60, come to think of it I may have sent my extra to Squirrel

Boy is that ever a problem. Over the years, I've tried six or seven times to organize the collection, so it's incredibly haphazard. Most things are still in the bags that they were taken home from the store in. Some are in boxes, some of the ones in boxes are properly [that is, individually] bagged, some are bagged, but the bags aren't taped.
I know for a fact that the last of the Valiant stuff I got never made it to a box, so that gives you some indication how long this disorganization has been going, and how ridiculous of a backlog of books there would be to deal with.
In my last big push, I found and organized all of the Heroes Reborn stuff. Remember that? How many years ago was that?

LONG time ago. I admit to kind of enjoying it, although Captain America was...shall we say...disfigured?Solitude wrote:Boy is that ever a problem. Also this thread isn't helping fight the analogy I made towards collectors and gambling addicts or alcoholics...any addiction really. Heh. I might write a book.
