MHC = delusional prices on everything for sale. Everytime on actually did purchase something on "sale" it was magically out of stock. To top it off, it took about 3 weeks for them to let me know that they didnt have the books.

It amazes me that Chuck thinks people are not aware of what he's doing.

He's slowly ruining his reputation with those ridiculous mark ups, and then running a fake "super sale" every week.

Hey guys, I just sent an email to Milehigh about there prices and how disappointed I am in them.. you guys should do the same. I mean, dont take take away from doing something important.. but if you have a second and want to complain a bit.. have at it LOL

Be sure to mention the $50 Spawn #1.. I even mentioned that I would be more than willing to sell them the issues I have for a measly $20 each LOL...

Lets see what happens :?

Well personally I think the owner is very full of himself and thinks he is somewhat responsible for the back issues industry. He was in the right place at the right time, nothing more.

agreed. I have talked to him several times. He is a nice guy, but has very little contact with reality.

I met Chuck in the UK a few months ago randomly and he was super cool.

I hooked him up with some UK hardback Annuals and he was very happy and also happy to tell me he will put them up on the site at crazy prices knowing no one will actually buy them, but at least he will have the images up.

Sounded like madnesss, but each to their own i say.

I received an email back from Milehigh.. the email stated that they would send the email on to Chuck.. I guess we will see.

Sheesh..Spawn for $30..cmon.. are they serious?? Magnus #1 signed for $100. Thats pure craziness.

I guess from a capitalist perspective he can do whatever he likes... I guess in a way Im upset that he may be ripping people off.. so it goes back to buyer beware.

Another thing.. maybe Chuck isnt setting the prices.. maybe its someone else and people are actually buying Spawn #1 at $30 a pop.. who knows.

I doubt it... my old LCS has a LB full of it still, and they only want $12 each out of their back-issue boxes.

-slym (figured that they wouldn't sell at $5 a pop)

$12 is still really high, you can get near mint copies online for great sellers for $2.

Yeah, hence why I mentioned that they wouldn't sell for $5 - and I tried to get them to do that very thing while I worked for them. They paid 98¢ for each copy, ordered 600 to get the two B&W #1's that Image was offering, and got stuck with 450+ copies. WHY they won't sell them even at cover price is beyond me...

I didn't think there was a "premium book" associated with Spawn #1.

The black & white #1 didn't come out until 5 years later.

Most LCS are, and that is why they go out of business. They want to cling onto hoards of items if they don't get guide. There is a nice store, relatively close to me, in Scranton Pa. The store is Comics on the Green. Awesome owner, will look for anything you request while you are in the store. He also has a large selection of Gold/Silver/Bronze/Modern books, a really swell guy. Its a bit far for me, about 50 miles, but he gives me a discount on everything I buy whenever I am there. If you search ebay, he has an ebay store named comicsonthegreen. IF you send him want lists he would definitely help you out.

Well, it may not have been the B&W #1, but there was some sort of premium book offered along with the release of #1, I remember seeing them on our wall and asking the store owner how he got them.

Maybe someone else will have better memory than I...

There were definitely no premium books for spawn # 1 and as pointed out the B&W did come out years later ( another overpriced peice of poop).

I couldnt sell Spawn # 1 for 99p last year.
Had it up on 10 day auction twice and it didnt sell for 99p, althought he next morning one sold for £13.00+ Go figure.

I sold a Spawn #1 for either a quarter or fifty cents recently. I can't recall the exact price but I know I was glad to be rid of it and all the other Image books taking up space.
