Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

Miracleman prices going up?

Post by BodaZoffa »

Can anyone tell me why Miracleman prices are going up? Is it because of the Watchmen movie?

This is a series that I have just given up on ever reading.

Maybe if someone loaded me the books or the TPBs. I just figure I'll never read it.

I think it depends who wants what issue when. Issue 24 is rarely up for sale, and I have seen the book go for $25 or more recently $100.

The first issues are not all that HTF. It's those later ones, up in the 20's...

Issue 15 to me is the hard one to get,and I think it has to do with that Alan Moore was writing some of the books then Gaiman took over after him. Please correct me if I am wrong. One day I will find that # 15

15 is particularly scarce because of a flooded warehouse.

Always fetches quite a premium.

I picked up #24 at a comic con in a quarter bin. My best quarter bin buy ever!

That said, I agree that #15 is the most expensive ... probably because it's the hardest to find.

I have a #15 CGC 9.6 I picked up some years ago on eBay and one issue of #24. I think I have a couple of #23's and a whole bunch of #1-#14's.

I was a big collector of these a few years ago hoping the prices would skyrocket when he appeared in Spawn, but gave up when McFarland lost the rights.

It is a GREAT read if you can find it on disk or download! It has that Watchmen flavor to it.

I got the trades and a few single issues. It cost me a lot of money but it was worth every cent of it.

Fair warning: if you go after the TPBs there is a version of vol. 3 that reprints the first half of #15 then reprints the first half of it again.

I could be wrong, but I think the hardcover version of the trades actually go for more than if you bought a lot containing all the single issues. I doubles of #1-4 if anyone is interested. I need to free up space and get rid of doubles that I have.

The first couple of issues are very easy to find and generally very cheap it's the later issues and TPBs and the especially the hardcovers that are very expensive.
