Post by vikingspawn »

I'm selling my old G1 Megatron Transformer for $60 if anyone is interested.

It comes with the original scope/weapons and has a date stamp of 1983/1974 Japan on the Megatron figure.

PM me if interested.

Here's a pic:

A couple of the stickers are coiled in their corners. But they can be peeled off so it looks better. Or replaced. But the Decepticon head sticker is still good.

Anyone here have a vintage Galvatron arm cannon lying around? I need one of those.. not the orange barrell, but the actual arm mount.

Scratch that... just found one on a whim and picked it up. At least my vintage, working Galvatron is finally complete again.

I was curious about those orange barrels.

When I was posting on ebay, an ebay pop alert came out saying that they'll only post pictures of orange tipped/barrels on the Megatrons for some reason.

Then I clicked on some other auctions and noticed people would photoshop an orange tip to their Megatrons...

If I were writing up an auction knowing this, I would point out that Megatron turned into a P1 or P38 Walther and have a bunch of photos of Walthers on the bottom of the page. Maybe even some pictures of Walthers being carried by Nazis.

Seriously, how can eBay be this gun-phobic?

I was digging up more stuff and found a G1 Optimus Prime Trailer.

Then I found this beauty:

I opened it up and here's what 27 year old Ecto-Plazm looks like:

I know there's a plastic ghost in there but I didn't want to touch it yet.

The smell almost made me faint. Then I smelled it again. *wooof*

This is totally not what I was talking about. I was talking about Galvatron. He had a cannon with an arm mount and a translucent orange barrel.

Yeah.... I probably spent proportionately more on the bazooka mount than I would've on a complete Galvatron, but now mine is complete again after... I dunno... a zillion years later.

All I'm really trying to do is complete a few of the easier to find G1's that I've got so that I can sell a few as loose complete versus a giant lot of G1 stuff.

This is due to the *SQUEE* law here that prohibits the sale of toy replica guns without an orange tip so people will know it's fake. Ebay will take down any toy listing that violates this law. I had to go through this whole ordeal process when I sold two of my masterpiece Megatrons.

Yea it's really ridiculous. Here's the alert that comes up when the word "Megatron" is in the subject/title listing:

--------------------------------------------------------
Attention Sellers:
Attention Seller

Due to the United States laws surrounding replica/imitation firearms, it is illegal for any business or individual to import or sell the MP-05 Megatron as it does not display a blaze orange safety tip on the end of the barrel.

Sellers may only list this toy if it has been modified to include clear markings permanently affixed to them (commonly blaze orange markings on the barrel or a blaze orange plug inserted into the barrel.)
--------------------------------------------------------

"blaze orange plug"

Megatron and Galvatron along with Optimus Prime, Starscream, Soundwave (w/ Ravage & Buzzsaw), Ironhide, Ratchet, and Jazz have all been reissued in Japan several times and are quite easy to buy online.

G1 Megatron is not as cool a lot of you think. It's an incredibly fragile and breaks if you look at it funny, and the robot mode can only move his arms.

G1 Galvatron is a little better but not by much.

The original G1 Galvatron is a triple changer who transforms into cannon into a laser psitol into a robot.

He's pretty cool for that time, I would love to him get a half-way decent new toy that is not a repaint (the same toy with a different paint job and name) of any of the various Megatron toys like he gotten for the past 11 years or that crappy deluxe Transformers: Universe POS toy tank released a year or two ago.

Shockwave was an OK gun, but Sixshot's gun mode was way cooler. :P

Had they articulated Shockwave's arms a bit more, it would've been the best Transformers gunbot ever...

I still remember how hard it was to find Shockwave when it first came out. It was SO exciting to get one!

Since "cool" is a subjective measurement, G1 Megatron is EXACTLY as cool as I think it is.

Ya! Perceptor was pretty cool too...
Lots of neat stuff on him, and his robotic configuration was cool with that lense turning into a mounted shoulder canon.
