Near mint raws rarely come up, and when they do, actual grade is pretty hard to determine.400yrs wrote:What do raws go for? 9.4 in the overstreet I have (which is a few years old) is $420.
(If it's really near mint, why isn't it slabbed? The seller is losing money... or overgrading.)
I paid about $140 for a raw 7.5 in 2009. It's probably closer to a 6.0.
I almost bought a CGC 6.0 for $100 in around 2003... probably would have been a better deal.

Makes me feel good about the ~1.8 that I picked up for $3.75 shipped that one time.

Yeah, I've never been disappointed with mid grade silver age slabbed stuff. IMO, that particular age and grade range is probably the best value.greg wrote:Near mint raws rarely come up, and when they do, actual grade is pretty hard to determine.400yrs wrote:What do raws go for? 9.4 in the overstreet I have (which is a few years old) is $420.

$3K+ for this just seems high to me, but maybe they are rare in HG.

I was thinking it would sell in the $1,600 range.400yrs wrote:Yeah, I've never been disappointed with mid grade silver age slabbed stuff. I feel the GK books are horribly underrated and have picked up so many bargains in the last five years.
The early issues though are just not easy to find in anything over VFN+, especially in the UK.
I have turned down so many copies of Magnus # 1 due to low grades, my chances of getting a stunner are slim, so maybe i will eventually grab a nicer copy and pay accordingly.

I thought it would go about $2,500 (and was willing to pay that much).
It's the second-highest graded and the book's a bear to find even in raw 6.0.
That said, I've bought a slabbed 6.5 and a 4.0 for $300 the pair within the last month--far far better value for the money.
I'm working towards building a slabbed set of 1-46 in 9.0 or better (8.5 for 2-10).
So if you have any Silver/Bronze age slabs for sale in 9.0+, please PM me.

Are you interested in high grade unslabbed copies? I have at least a few Magnuses (higher numbers)Rai-fan wrote:I thought it would go about $2,500 (and was willing to pay that much).
