cbr on 3/7/2012 wrote:Continuing its week of "Summer of Valiant" teasers, Valiant Entertainment revealed a new image of "Bloodshot." With the accompanying text, "Every mission is a suicide mission," "Bloodshot" #1 will hit in July, following the release of "X-O Manowar" #1 in May and "Harbinger" #1 in June. "Harbinger" was revealed as Valiant's second launch title last week complete with a Valiant Pullbox Program variant cover. The revelation of "Bloodshot" as one of Valiant's major launch books comes as very little surprise, considering the recent news of Sony Pictures nabbing the rights to "Bloodshot". Other recent announcements include a clever talking variant cover for "X-O Manowar" #1.

"I think there was a reason why Valiant had such a tremendous impact in the industry, initially," Valiant Executive Editor Warren Simons told CBR in January. "I think the characters they have really are exceptional. When I was thinking of coming onboard the company, the first thing that I did was research the IP. The thing that I found, time and time again, whether it was X-O or Harbinger or Bloodshot, the core concepts driving the characters really are fantastic. When you have that, you have the foundation for a really incredible universe. The thing about Valiant is that it's not just about a single comic; it's about the tapestry of the larger universe and how these characters play a role in it."

I went today - and my LCS still has two Bloodshot glasses on his shelf.

I have one - but if anyone else is interested in making an offer, I can pass it along to him.

Also looks like Bloodshot is wearing a shirt ....

Looks good, but I am now more excited about tomorrow. If you think about all the titles that have been announced they have all been hinted at in that Tumblr page. Has there been any hint of Archer and Armstrong?? I don't think so. But there has been of Shadowman or maybe Master Darque. So maybe the 4th title IS Shadowman, which would make me very excited. Either way, I can't wait for tomorrow!

I must've missed something. Is there an announcement coming tomorrow?

"The summer of Valiant is coming. Four titles. Four months."

One of the previous announcements said there would be an announcement a day for 4 days. Of course the 4th announcement could be the Bloodshot movie (not officially announced) I suppose and not another title. I got the impression it would be another title though.

Great image again. Could it be a subtle homage like Harbinger or is it a theme that comes up naturally?

Love the art again! Look's good, looks professional, and looks modern! Instantly reminded of the cover to Bloodshot #40 if for no other reason than the American flag.

As I was typing this, I saw magnusr beat me to the post.

Definitely an homage to Bloodshot 40, but also I think Bloodshot 44.

Before you reach the "stars" on the flag in the Bloodshot image, you're looking at a "sunburst" effect
with the red and white stripes, which matches pretty well to Bloodshot 44.

I'm curious to see where they take Bloodshot moreso than the other characters. I'm excited for X-O and Harbinger, but they look different in ways that I might not like the title, but that Bloodshot image is pretty much full of nostalgia and hope that they can recapture the excitement of that now long gone era of comics..

So the red and white stripes on the flag are the Rising Sun war flag of Japan until it reaches the stars and stripes? :censored: - sorry it is an American flag and nothing else. Besides the sunburst flag is most asian countries is as offensive as the nazi flag is to everyone else.

You're right... because everyone knows there's only one way to interpret art.
