The Summer Of Valiant Flipbook/TPB's Condition At NYCC 2012
At the NYCC booth on Friday hand picked through the copies of the trade and the flipbooks and could only score 1 copy of each with minimal damage (purchased two copies of each total). When I asked if they had any better condition copies they told me that what was on the table was what you had to choose from. $20.00 per trade and your choice of the Flipbook deal at $15.00 each or two for $25.00 I thought they would have had better condition copies. At least the two A & A signed prints I got from Emanuela were in Pristine Mint condition and they were FREE!

Wow, that trade is only $20? I've seen em sell on ebay for $90. Guess I better hold off!

I haven't looked lately, but when the flip books first came out, they were selling for around $50 on ebay, I'm sure they have cooled down since then.Carson wrote:Wow, that trade is only $20? I've seen em sell on ebay for $90. Guess I better hold off!

Yeah, just saw an XO/Harby one go for $30. Always better to be patient if you can! Or fight the rest of the crazies and overpay in a bidding war on ebay the first few weeks its availableetos45 wrote:I haven't looked lately, but when the flip books first came out, they were selling for around $50 on ebay, I'm sure they have cooled down since then.Carson wrote:Wow, that trade is only $20? I'm actually shocked they would still selling for so much. I see the last one to sell went for $22 which I think is a better price for it. With Valiant books, I've learned that patients is the key to everything. You might overpay eventually, but the money you have saved up until that point will make it worth it.Carson wrote:Yeah, just saw an XO/Harby one go for $30. Always better to be patient if you can! Mine had soft corners. Several of them had splits near the spine on the table.

The ones I picked up weren't all 9.8s but still pretty good nonetheless. Just some very minor scuffing at the bottom of the spine. But I'm pretty happy with 'em.

To be honest the condition of the books was probably a combination of when you happened by the table combined with the fact that the other con goers (buying and non buying) were handling them repeatedly. I sold one of the copies I purchased and kept the other for a reading copy so it's all good.jmatt wrote:The ones I picked up weren't all 9.8s but still pretty good nonetheless. Can we still get any from Valiant or Valiant fans for these NYCC exclusives, flip books and Summer of Valiant TPB?

I just tweeted Valiant today asking to buy flipbooks. They said they are only selling them at the Cons.DK2 wrote:Can we still get any from Valiant or Valiant fans for these NYCC exclusives, flip books and Summer of Valiant TPB?
