Casting an Archer & Armstrong movie
If there is ever an Archer & Armstrong, Armstrong needs to be played by Gérard Depardieu. He practically IS Armstrong!
Dangit. Not at my home computer, so I can't put up any pics of him, but he looks the part and would fit the character as well as Robert Downey Jr fit Tony Stark.
Not sure who Archer should be played by. Maybe the guy playing Arrow on the CW show? Nah, too angsty looking.

I did castings for all the books a while back on a thread, but it was before the relaunch. Here would be my current choices:
Armstrong - Mark Addy (Played Robert Baratheon on Game of Thrones, who is basically Aram)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004692/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
Archer - Ben Foster (Angel in XMen Last Stand and the protege in The Mechanic remake - Could be a little old, but he looks younger than 32)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004936/

Archer - Ben Foster (Angel in XMen Last Stand and the protege in The Mechanic remake - Could be a little old, but he looks younger than 32)

Hmmm, I like Ben Foster for Archer. He has that puritan look, or at least he looks like he can. But could pull off the flip side and show Archer's anger that comes out at times.BugsySig wrote:I did castings for all the books a while back on a thread, but it was before the relaunch. Watch the Mechanic...he's pretty brutal in that.Phoenix8008 wrote:Hmmm, I like Ben Foster for Archer. He has that puritan look, or at least he looks like he can. Re: Casting an Archer & Armstrong movie
I think of Mark Addy as Bill Miller from Still Standing. Still works as Aram and surprisingly, I think his voice could even fit the part.BugsySig wrote:I did castings for all the books a while back on a thread, but it was before the relaunch. Here would be my current choices:

Jeff Bridges as Armstrong.

Re: Casting an Archer & Armstrong movie
Convinced about Mark Addy for Aram just by looking at his IMDB (although I am also sold on Jeff Bridges for Aram). As for Archer, Forster looked old to me in that Mechanic clip. I see Archer in his late teens/early 20s, and Foster would be like Luke Perry in 90210. Right now, I am tempted to have Alex Heartman, who played the Red Ranger in the recently wrapped-up Power Rangers series, as Archer.BugsySig wrote:I did castings for all the books a while back on a thread, but it was before the relaunch. I voted for John Goodman as Aram and Christian Hayden as archer during that contest. VEI sent me a A&A hardcover for it

Re: Casting an Archer & Armstrong movie
While I love Goodman and Bridges, I think they are too old for the current look of Armstrong.
My original favorite for the part was Brendan Gleeson, http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3059968/nm0322407, but he is too old now, too.
For a younger Archer, how about Lucas Till (XMen First Class)? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1395771/

I really want to say Michael Pare as Armstrong, pending several dozen donuts. He was sick in Streets of Fire.

Re: Casting an Archer & Armstrong movie
He is a superb actor, wouldn't be extremely expensive, and he's a big dude. I think he stands about 6'4-5ish and even skinny he's over 200lbs. So if he's got the pounds on now 6'4 250 he would look huge on film next to a small Archer co-star. I think facially he also looks more like VEI Aram than anyone else listed so far.MarrowMan wrote:Bang on the money, Vincy Dinof is really fat now, and is a superb character actor.MarkRoseHFX wrote:My choice for Aram: Vincent D'Onofrio

He's gotten to be a little wierd these days (even according to costars, etc). I wonder if he could pull-off an Action Adventure Comedy role at this point...or would even want to.Phoenix8008 wrote:Sounds good to me. Lock him in!
