X-Factor 6 - 1st Appearance of Apocalypse

Post by greatbrandino11 »

Has anyone seen the skyrocketing prices for this issue? A CGC 9.8 copy sold for close to $300.00 on Sunday night. :o Unslabbed NM copies are going for close to x5 the value. It may stay this way until the X-Men: Days of Future Past film comes out. Rumor has him possibly being the surprise villain at the end. Crazy!

I have thought this issue was undervalued for a long time. I have a few copies but have never seen them to be overly abundant in nice condition. Apocalypse is a great villain and has been a major player for a long time. The cover is great as well. Before the rumor you could grab raw copies for a few dollars. I still think this book will settle into a nice range after the crazy jump falls off.

I completely agree. I hope it does help keep the issue in demand and at a respectable price. I always picked up extra copies when I had the chance. I may put some extra copies to other people's hands when the time is right. I'll be holding on to my graded copies for many years to come. He is a great villain.

His origin needs to be a movie in itself. "Rise of Apocalypse"

I like this - no mutants (cos he'd be the only one, and wouldn't know what he really was) and a great historical backdrop (Egypt) for most of the movie would actually be really cool, in that it wouldn't really be an X-movie in any way.

Who would you pick for the role? I almost hate to suggest... Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson?

I bought this issue wayyyyy back in the day, I think after it was highlighted in one of those two page Wizard spreads. I think I paid 6 bucks for it at the time. I can never decide whether to file this with my First Appearance "Bring on the Bad Guys" collection or with the X-Factor run I built way after the fact and have not read.

I really hope this book doesn't blow up out of my desired price range before I complete my X-Factor run.

I picked up an almost complete run of X-Factor from 1-50 or so in like 2006/2007 for like $40. Had a VF+ copy of #6 in it, and I just ordered another VF+ for $4.99 yesterday. Might hold on to these for a while :)

I have several graded already but nothing higher than a 9.6. I have several other unslabbed copies I may end up sending in before too long. He is just too great of a character.

I sold a really nice copy for $18 a couple of months ago. That thing went through two auctions before someone finally bid.

Bishop, Warpath and Blink are confirmed for the Days of Future Past movie. Could they be doing an Age of Apocalypse mash up with DOFP? http://www.superherohype.com/news/artic ... uture-past

X-Factor was always better than X-Men. #6 and #24 are among my favorite issues.

I hope so. The characters are certainly shaping up for that storyline. Maybe Cable will sneak into a scene. I am genuinely excited for this film. With the way Singer left his mark with X2: X-Men United (we'll forget about Superman Returns), I have no doubt that he will create a good X-Men film for his audience.

Isn't issue five the first cameo appearance of that character? I would suppose that issue is being pulled up in price as well.
