Never seen this much VALIANT posted in WIZARD before....
I went to my local CBS in Nashville and snagged the new stuff (he puts his out a day early), and I snagged the new WIZARD, for some reading material. As I was flipping through the Price Guide, I saw something I haven't seen in a long time...CHAOS EFFECT was listed! Then I saw SHADOWMAN, and UNITY, and MAGNUS, and even HARD CORPS was listed! They only listed key issues, but BLOODSHOT Chromium Error was listed, and final issues prices on almost all titles.
They were all in the green, and going up.
Just thought it was kinda cool to see MORE Valiants back in Wizard.

As far as I'm concerned, any of the "printed guides" can use as many
of my price guide values as they want... as long as they're current.
I would actually prefer it to the "all Valiant is worthless" scenario we've seen
in the past 10 years.
I just hope they don't make any more glaring mistakes.
As always, I'll be dropping guide prices as they drop on the secondary market,
and I'll be raising guide prices as they rise on the secondary market.
They should even subtract a few bucks from every value I list
if it's not their policy to include shipping costs.
(It's hard to buy anything online without paying shipping, though.)

Here's a couple sample prices listed in WIZARD # 162 (April, 2005)
Bloodshot # 0c Platinum error edition = $750.00
Chaos Effect Alpha B (red edition, retailer reorder incentive) 1:100 - $100.00
Unity #0b red ex. = $60.00
Harbinger # 0a - $75.00
Solar # 60 final issue - $12.00
Harbinger # 0 (Sendaway; pink logo) - $75.00
...hmm...no X-O Manowar listed in here.

Once upon a time I believe there was a wizard person here watching Valiant prices. He talked briefly about it and then took off never to be heard from again. And we all lived happily ever after. The end.jedimarley wrote:Is somebody from Wizard watching the boards?

All it takes is Wizard to feature a Valiant cover on their next issue with the phrase "Have anyone notice that Valiant books are skyrocketing again?" to start the 90's frenzy all over again. As of right now, the current Valiant market is only reflected mainly by members and those who visit this site. Once the speculators hop in, it'll all be game over from there.....

I don't know what you think, but as far as I am concerned worse things could happen.Escaflown4 wrote:All it takes is Wizard to feature a Valiant cover on their next issue with the phrase "Have anyone notice that Valiant books are skyrocketing again?" to start the 90's frenzy all over again. The worse thing that can happen is having this lead to another market crash.... history is doomed to repeat itself....wrunow wrote:I don't know what you think, but as far as I am concerned worse things could happen.Escaflown4 wrote:All it takes is Wizard to feature a Valiant cover on their next issue with the phrase "Have anyone notice that Valiant books are skyrocketing again?" to start the 90's frenzy all over again. It wouldn't bother me if the prices were creeping up because people are realizing what great stories the Valiant universe had to offer. But I'm afraid they'll be a lot of "jumping on the band wagon" and speculation again. Do you think the Valiant market can withstand anopther heyday?
