My Valiant Story from Wisconsin
My Valiant Story actually starts as a young child. My comic addiction formed when I happened across my dads collection he had stored in a grape box :
I was awed by silver age Thor, Fantastic Four, etc.... and of course my lifelong addiction to the X-Men. As the comic bug continued to grow my grandparents found a stash of comics that were my dad, and uncles when they were young.....mostly Disney comics, but then I find some Gold Key Turok, and Magnus Robot Fighter issues.
When I saw that Valiant had rebooted Magnus, and latter Turok I was HOOKED. I nabbed anything Valiant I could find.afford. I remember begging an older guy I knew daily on the bus to buy his Magnus #0 lol.
I stay into comics pretty hardcore until about the early/mid 90's...and taper off. Growing up sucks lol.
Finally after a LONG hiatus (newest comic I had was a Battlestar Galactica series from 98) I jumped back into the much missed world of comics in January of this year. I sarted going to a local (small) comic show that's usually every 2-3 months.... and lo and behold the person that runs it has dozens and dozens of long boxes of comics for 50 for $20, etc. My collection is reborn (withadditional help from Ebay, and ComicBookRealm.com users). Sadly with all these new outlets, and how prolific/popular Valiant was bitd) finding issues in my area was rather daunting. Rare issues/small runs do show up, but usually pretty beat up, or vastly overpriced.
Fast forward to a few months ago, during a move I find out aabout a toy/comic/game store in Sheboygan and decide to dump off a bunch of old toys just taking up space. Long drive latter I have $ AND store credit....what to get? I go thru their pretty impressive series of long boxes....and take a chance. !!!! DO my eyes deceive me??? A run of Magnus Robot Fighter 1-25....with cards intact!!! I did overpay for a couple issues, but when you factor in shipping for online buying I did alright....and the Valiant love (and my childhood) is REBORN!!!

Welcome to the boards. It's fun here. You should avoid the Canadians at all costs. They are evil!

Great story, welcome aboard!
(I'm not in the mood to stoop & respond to Dunlows anti-Canadian level right now. Sorry if I'm dissapointing anyone.

I think that's the first apology I have received from a Canadian. It's alright. I'll let this slide. You might just be okay, fellow Josh.grendeljd wrote:Great story, welcome aboard!
