Re: Valiant brings back chromium covers for Armor Hunters
I KNEW IT!!!!!
I asked Dino about this when I saw the Bloodshot cover and he was all "I can't tell you anything," but I knew it!
It just looked like it was made to be chromium!!!!
I will be chasing the chromium covers. I love me some chromium.
I knew it! Sly ol' Dino.

Scooped by the Haligonian!
Awesome news but it doesn't tell us what we need to do to get them, that's a little worrying.

A nice little nod to the past. Hopefully they set aside some for flats as well.

Kudos to valiant for keeping the price of these reasonable. Walking Dead and Invincible #100 chromium covers were $9.99

Re: Valiant brings back chromium covers for Armor Hunters
Well I definitely will be getting these, I have to admit I am not looking forward to it. It's a very cool concept and the art does work but I'm tired, and I feel like I am reaching the saturation point. I'm a diehard Valiant fan and I love all the books but I'm just tired of all the variants. This almost feels like jumping the shark. Instead of building the company and the new direction we keep going back to the past and I think it's some point and starts to feel like you have nothing to offer if you keep relying on what was great back then. Normally I am the most optimistic valiant fan but for some reason this just hit me wrong.

Re: Valiant brings back chromium covers for Armor Hunters
I was critical of the variants at first, but now I kinda enjoy them. I'm especially stoked about the chromium covers (I almost bought the Invincible 100 at my LCS). I, however, am not as OCD as some of you, so I have purchased VERY few variants. I like the gimmick covers. I have three QR covers and many blanks. If they made a glow-in-the-dark, pop-up, scrach'n'sniff cover, I'd be all over it. I really want a Unity 3-D cover and I'm very glad those prices are dropping.Ramses818 wrote:Well I definitely will be getting these, I have to admit I am not looking forward to it. Cool! Even at $6 each, I might actually get these variants! Maybe I'll just get the chromium covers and skip getting the regular paper covers for each of these if possible. Have to see what DCBS allows next month or so.

Re: Valiant brings back chromium covers for Armor Hunters
I don't think variants particularly phase most readers, who tend to just get one issue and read it. The only time I really think about them is when I look at them in collected editions.lorddunlow wrote:I was critical of the variants at first, but now I kinda enjoy them. While this makes sense, I don't really care about chromium covers either way. It seems like a good way to boost the bottom line, assuming they're like hardcover books in that they're negligibly more expensive yet are able to be sold for more than softcovers. So... yay?

To be honest, I found Braithwaite's pencils a little light on Unity. They look much darker here, and work much better!

Hmmmm... looks like M.E.R.O collected the Commando class armors after Aric's brawl with the Vine. Can the Armorines be a surprise coming out of Armor Hunters?
