CGC Goof
I don't know if anyone has brought this topic up yet,if so, sorry. This goof up by CGC is raking in the dough for this seller:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 12067&rd=1
This should slow down turnaround even further.

Yeah, can't you open the outside cases on the CGC holders? The seller's really hamming it up, wonder if it's Woosuh? Next question: Where's the UXM 281 with the spiderman in the case?
BTW, CGC messes up. It happens. I do wonder if they'll try to bid and win this back (and if so, will they be bidding against PGX?
). I also wonder if the seller tried to contact CGC, or if he saw big $ and ran to post it on the Bay.

So I guess you won't be setting a snipe on this, huh?ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:This guy's a prick about it, too.
It's a CLERICAL ERROR. People are HUMAN. It HAPPENS. No one said CGC was perfect...that's why they have a $10 Million RIDER on their insurance. DUH.
Lord.
What a prick.

This guy is clearly a CGC hater. I have 2 books from CGC that had the inside label slide halveway out. I could have switched them around with out any way to tell. All the guy did is switch a Spidey and X-Men label. I bet the guy is somehow connected to that PGX/PGA/...... company.
"UP FOR AUCTION IS A MARVEL COMICS,RARE ERROR THAT CGC MADE ON MY COMIC BOOK. THE UNCANNY X-MEN #281 CGC GRADED 9.8 WITH WHITE PAGES ,PUBLISHED ON OCTOBER OF 1986. THIS HIGH GRADE KEY ISSUE IS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE NEW XMEN TEAM BEGINS. BUT, IF YOU LOOK CLOSER,YOU WILL FIND THAT CGC GRADED THIS BOOK AS IF IT WERE THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN #281 WITH ALL OF THE DETAILS OF THAT BOOK SHOULD HAVE.NOW, I DONT KNOW HOW THE HELL THEY DID THAT. IF YOU ASK ME,ISNT CGC SUPPOSSED TO BE PERFECT IN EVERY WAY?THIS PROVES THEM WRONG.IMAGINE ON HOW THEY MESS UP GRADING YOUR BOOKS WHEN YOU SUBMIT THEM. THEY ARE VERY IRRESPONSABLE.I HAD CALLED THEM TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT THEY DID AND THEY DIDNT BELIEVE ME .THEN,THEY WANTED THIS BOOK BACK SO BADLY AND THEN TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD WORK IT OUT WITH ME, BUT I HAD DIFFERENT INTENTIONS IN MIND.ISNT THIS SO COOL.WHAT COULD SOMETHING LIKE THIS BE WORTH TO THEM WITHOUT IT BEING IN CIRCULATION? WHO KNOWS.I WILL LEAVE THAT UP TO EVERYONE ON EBAY. "

Out of the about 500 CGCs I've gotten, I've had to send about 10-15 or so with problems. Sometimes labels, sometimes cases aren't sealer properly, sometimes cracked.
First offer of $100 takes it. Otherwise it's getting fixed.

Apparently the original auction is no longer in eBay's database.

CGC makes mistakes is right, and I could tell you many of mine. MY most recent and revelvent on THIS board was my Solar# 10 which I was TOLD had graded a CGC 9.9 (the 1st one as of yet)
but was told Monday it was a "clerical error" and it was "another" book of mine that graded so, and the books were mis-directed into the data base
I've had books damaged, and on and on...but I still support them, and think they do a very good job overall. Were human, we ALL make mistakes, its silly to expect 100% perfection of ANYTHING let alone...humans
