I thought this was a decent wrap up to the story, but the art was ... poor.

loved it, this story took malgam and quartz in a great direction. did malgam get in the pod though? at the end he seems to be almost completely armor, so maybe he was still on board when gin-gr crashed?

it is a shame they didnt have the same artist for the whole arc, but this guy was still decent

Yeah, I enjoyed the story, less keen on the art. All in all a nice Unity tale, and glad to see the Armor Hunters still in the mix.
Good Morning, that's a nice tnetennba.

Unity has been so bad for so long. I'm so glad it's ending. If Valiant keeps putting out poor books like this, I'm going to have to stop pulling everything Valiant and just stick with their better stuff. Even Marvel puts out better comic books than this.

I liked the issue and the arc, maybe even more than Kindt's stuff. The pacing for the issue felt appropriately frantic. Although I will agree about the art... it was difficult to understand what was happening at times.

I asked Valiant on facebook if we've seen the last of Unity.

I didn't care for this much, which really bums me out because I really wanted Unity to go out on a high note for me. I really disliked the art, like others have said you can barely tell what's happening most of the time. I'm also confused about the decision to end with a cheesy "we're super friends forever!" speech, especially since the events of BOD repeatedly drive home the point that the members of Unity don't trust each other.

Maybe I need to read this again (not sure I can face it) as I can't see what people liked about it? I thought the dialogue wasn't great and the art very unclear in some panels so I couldn't figure out what was happening.

Didn't enjoy this 1.5/5

The story was pretty good, but the art was terrible. I just couldn't get past it. It really detracted from what was an otherwise solid two-issue tale.

Good story but, as others have said, what the hell was up with the art and coloring? Awful! It's almost like the artist decided to draw the book digitally but didn't really know how to draw digitally and turned in a big pile of crap. So they tried to cover it up with saturated colors, thick black lines, and weird blurry effects. As I said, awful art in this one. Not sure what went wrong there. With that said, I'd like to see Ausmus get another crack at these characters. I thought he did a nice job in these two issues.

I guess I'm not the only one who can spot poor quality. :thumb: Yes, even Marvel and DC's worst title is better art than this.

This issue was definitely weak in the art department, it's a shame that Diego Bernard couldn't draw both parts of the Asmus story. Very hard to tell what was happening in a lot of panels. Stylistically it did have a passing resemblance to the likes of Gil Kane or Walt Simonson though, just not as well handled.

I thought it was a decent 2-part story overall, though. Missed a little on the execution, is all.

I must also be one the few that really loved Unity. The farther away from your standard Avengers book it was the better I liked it. Homefront being the best arc I have read in a long time.

+1 I cracked up when you guys were praising the book for avoiding the usual techno-babble regarding Livewire's plan to use Gin-GR's self defense mechanisms against Helix.

I'm with you, sir - the less like every other superhero team book the better for this title. It still feels to me like its limping across the #25 finish line though, with the last two story arcs (including this Armor Hunter 2-parter) being weaker than what went before.

+1. The artist isn't competent to illustrate books printed in the thousands. Asmus couldn't have been happy about having his name attached to that over-inked mess.

Awful art. Ugh. Last night when reading this, I thought it was just my tired eyes, but everything seemed out of focus in terms of art, yet speech bubbles were fine. I hope VEI don't for a moment believe they final product in terms of art was adequate - in other words I hope to never again see something comparable to Unity 24 from VEI.

The writing, like last issue, just made me think of filler story. Basically a two-issue place-holder. Maybe there was a rush hence the art problems?
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month
