I don't get it. I see a bunch of nominees from lesser-known publishers like Fantagraphics and Oni Press, but no Valiant titles nominated at all from 2014-2016? Is Valiant not submitting their titles for consideration?

I don't get it either
IMO, Imperium and Ivar's 2015 runs were both Eisner worthy
The less prestigious Harvey awards seem to love Valiant at least. I'm sure they will again get some nominations for those awards.

The Harvey nominations are rigged by ballot stuffing from company-pushed open voting by any creator who wants to vote.bygranddesign wrote:I don't get it either

The Eisner's nominations are a small "judging panel, which changes each year, consists of five or six people representing various aspects of the comics industry. Usually included are a comics creator, a critic/reviewer, a graphic novel librarian, a comics retailer, a scholar, and a member of the Comic-Con organizing committee. The judges are selected by a special awards committee within Comic-Con International. This committee is open to input from a variety of sources."
The Eisner's are usually a bunch of stuff most comic readers haven't heard of.
Personally, I don't know if any output from VEI was really Eisner worthy this year.

There are some obscure titles ... but for the most part the titles that get nominated should be familiar to any serious comic reader.SwiftMann wrote:

.
Imperium would actually be one of the more obscure titles ever nominated in the continuing series category
well, thats like your opinion, man ...Personally, I don't know if any output from VEI was really Eisner worthy this year
But Seriously though ... I've been huge fans of Eisner nominated titles like TWD, Saga, Y:The Last Man, Ms. Marvell, Hawkeye, Sandman ...etc etc
Imperium is one of the most intellectually compelling "superhero" title i've ever read.
Dysart and that title deserve some major respect.

No more so than one of this year's, Bandette, by Paul Tobin and Colleen Coover (Monkeybrain)bygranddesign wrote:There are some obscure titles ... but for the most part the titles that get nominated should be familiar to any serious comic reader.SwiftMann wrote:

But in general, yes, the Continuing, New, Limited, Writer, Penciler/Inker, Cover Artist, Coloring categories are Image, Dark Horse and the occasional Marvel title centric every year. The other 20+ categories, not so much. Even for the "serious comic reader."
Yes, there is a large portion of the small audience this book has that believes this.well, thats like your opinion, man ...Personally, I don't know if any output from VEI was really Eisner worthy this year

Re: 2016 Eisner nominees announced - where's Valiant?
That's why I thought Valiant would've had a single title represented in the Eisner's from 2014-2016. There were titles in there that were Eisner-worthy that most comic readers haven't heard of.SwiftMann wrote:bygranddesign wrote:
