was this the guy that sold 10 of these with a buy it now and then stiffed the buyer and relisted it, because "his wife accidently put the wrong book out"?
if so you guys showed remarkable restraint!
someone still shoulda bought it for a cent!

Nope, you can end the auction at any time. If there is a high bidder at the time of the auction end, they that is the winning bidder, and final value fees apply, etc. If, as in this case, they guy wanted to back out of the auction, escape final fees, etc - then yea ya gotta cancel all bids so that nobody is the high bidder when the auction ends.jusdb wrote:seller ended that one.....wouldn't have matter if you did bid, he probably cancelled all the bids and ended the auction. actually iirc, to end an auction early, you have to cancel all the bids on it.

I'm curious to what this person is trying to do with the comic. Clearly he is interested in selling the thing. Isn't he?
This would of been the second time the comic was auctioned and the second time he has backed out of finalizing the deal. At this point in time I'm not sure if he thinks he should get the full value via greg's price guide or just bragging to everyone that he has a good comic.
The first time was understandable but the second time it gets kinda silly.

I think hey got an offer via e-mail that he accepted, and pulled it to dodge eBay fees - just a guess though.whetteon wrote:I'm curious to what this person is trying to do with the comic. yeah but if he got a offer via email it was probably less than a auction would have gotten....why would you send an offer while the auction is going on unless you thought that you could lowball the guy....this guys is just an A$$ and he should have sold the book when it sold the first time....what probably happened the first time was that someone emailed him an offer for it and he figured out that it might be worth something...

As I stated the seller told me whne he listed it the he was not going to sell. That he was going to end the auction early and cancel the bids. He backed out of the sale with the first auction even after the buyer had paid.R Daneel wrote:I think hey got an offer via e-mail that he accepted, and pulled it to dodge eBay fees - just a guess though.whetteon wrote:I'm curious to what this person is trying to do with the comic. I heard you say that ... I'm just giving my opinion. I don't know that I would take this guy at his word. Saying what he told you is very safe, I don't think he would admit to some stranger that he was blatantly breaking rules. (that he canceled bids and ended the auction early to avoid eBay fees)x-omatic wrote:As I stated the seller told me whne he listed it the he was not going to sell.
