Marks on cover

Post by magnusr »

I've got a graded book with some marks on the cover, a few millimeters in from each end of a staple. Also a slight line further up, along the spine. It's the darker marks. The white specks are not on the comic. It was not easy photgraphing through the slab, hope you can see what I'm talking about. As part in determining what has happened I would be grateful for comments on what grade a book with these marks can have:

Thanks,

Magnus

Magnus, the picture is a little blurry. It's hard to see, but are they printer marks?

This appears to be a little color transfer or 'rubbing'. It could also be what is commonly seen on Harbinger 0 around the staples, where there are "white marks".

My thought is that a book like the one in the scan could still be a 9.6.

Yeah, the picture is too bad. I hesitated to ask based on it. What are printer marks?

I can't tell through the plastic if it's only added color or if the paper is scratched. I'm wondering if it was there before the grading or not. The label says 9.8.

Thanks for the input, guys.
