Hey daniellew61 You're the only one who actually engages, so...
Help me out with something... Will Valiant, or Alien/Valiant be producing the Eternal Warrior book that was funded on Kickstarter... or should the fans that backed that book consider that to be money that Valiant has ... lost for those fans? No hate, not blaming you, Dani... Its just that you seem to be the only human voice coming from Valiant anymore.

well, I am not even a Valiant voice anymore. It's a weird feeling after all this time.
It wasn't part of the Alien deal. I don't have any more information on it at all.
Wish I could be of more help.

So, she lied.
The book that was funded on Kickstarter, whose creative team was paid by Kickstarter backers... will be published by Alien.
But since it's being published in a different format (softcover, not hardcover) she wasn't technically lying. Legally defensible lying, what a colossal screw you to the fans.
Seems like business is still very DMG-style in the Valiant world.
If the Kickstarter book is published and mailed out BEFORE Alien has it on sale, fine... otherwise, Alien is profiting from work that they didn't pay the creative team for... 531 fans did, and we expect our cut.

She didn't lie. Book was not part of the deal and back in July a softcover edition wasn't even on the works. Only recently, when DMG got the hardcover book finished and scheduled for print, is that a softcover edition was added to the publishing schedule.
The upcoming books for 2024 were not meant to be released now, but they did... So of course that makes it looks bad, but all will come together in the end.

The Kickstarter better get an update soon. And it better come out before Alien starts selling the book that WE paid to get done. If not, Alien Books will be just as complicit as DMG for stealing our money and profiting from that theft.

I just explained that back when she replied in July, a softcover edition was not part of the plan. I understand your frustration, but not the aggression.

Currently, the only official info we have, is that the Kickstarter is still silent since March, and Alien will soon be profiting from content that was paid for by us fans that are currently being ignored by DMG/Valiant.
Last night the only defense you offered was Kickstarter is for hardcover, we're doing softcover now you're suddenly willing to speak on DMGs behalf and tell me the Kickstarter book will come out first... why not say that yesterday? Just makes it look like you're blowing smoke today.

At the time, it wasn't on the pub at all when I answered you. Sorry that you think I would lie. I really didn't lie.
This,is meant to come out after the KS was released
It'll be pushed back if it isn't out for KS first and foremost.
That's it.
This all does suck.
I'm *SQUEE* if that helps.

If we don't see the Kickstarter out, it'll get pushed back it back to till we see it is. Sorry, no smoke intended.
