I was wondering this myself the other day. All I remember is Ivar popping out of the Chaos anomaly (?) and feeling guilty about it. Did we ever get a clearer explanation?

I looked through the index and the FAQ and I can't find a synopsis.

I did a forum search and I could not find anything good for you.

Maybe someone else can come up with a link for you.

Sorry.

Are you originally from Lincoln?

From North Platte, now at school in Lincoln

Thanks for looking.

I'm starting to think it was never revealed.

I think it would be for the best if we all erased The Chaos Effect from our memories.

HEY....!!!!!

Grew up in Schuyler, NE & graduated college from Kearney, NE. I went to a comic shop in North Platte once in the middle of the Valiant hay day. Can't remember the name of it. There was a fairly attractive blonde working the counter.

If you're story-wise wondering from where Ivar brought all the chaos, then, no, it was not revealed.

If you're wondering what editorial idea was behind it, it was "How would each hero, individually, react to a natural disaster?".

TIMEWALKER: Fall of the Timeshapers by Bob Layton
I’m not sure exactly what this one was supposed to be about, but I have a sneaking suspicion it would have revealed the origin of the Chaos Effect.

For me, it meant now is the time to stop spending your hard earned money on these books, and buy them in the 25 cent bin in the future. Though my LCS shut down a few months after Chaos, so I stopped buying them.

In the press for it, it was the energy from the end of the world (Ivar had apparently traveled to the time when Earth is finally destroyed). I also remember reading in one peice of press that the people at that time used necromatic and that's what blew it up (I guess this would the "Fall of the Timeshapers" thing that was never released). Of course nothing is really ever set in stone unless it sees print in a story.

I wrote a fan fic once that aimed to answer this question, but I never got around to finish it.

http://ivarannipadda.tripod.com/index.html

Basically during his travels Ivar goes back to Muskogee and stops Phil Seleski from becoming Solar, which ends up creating an alternate reality where Erica Pierce has become MotherGod and dominated the world.

During his trip there Ivar meets Rebecca Simms, granddaughter of VH 2's Doctor Tomorrow, who is trying to discover how this alternate reality came to be.

At the end of the story, as reality collapses around them, Rebecca attaches a device to MotherGod's sleep cell to absorb all the necromantic energy released by the death of this universe.

The two of them then come into contact with the T.I.M.E. Vaulters, an organization first mention in VH 2 Magnus that's made up of alternate reality versions of known VALIANT characters whose leader is an alternate reality Toyo Harada.

The second arc, called The Rogue T.I.M.E. Vaulter featured Jason Simms, the VH 2 Doctor Tomorrow's grandson from the Layton mini series.

The idea was that Rebecca was Jason's alternate from another reality. In the story Jason goes crazy and stops mocking around with time. In the end the idea was for Jason to lead to the destruction of the T.I.M.E Vaulters and the release of the necromantic energy they gathered, which would then spill into VH 1 during Chaos Effect.

Out of curiosity: How could Ivar have stopped Seleski from becoming Solar? Doesn't Ivar's existence - and the existence of all the Anni-Padas, and all other 'supers' in the VU - necessitate Solar's existence, and his accidental remaking of the universe?

Ivar arrived in Muskogee of VH 0 just as the accident was taking place. Once there he stopped Phil from jumping into the reactor and then dropped two pills from the future into it to stop the meltdown. After that he said goodbye to Phil and jumped into his time arc.

I never got around to explain how Ivar ended up at VH 0 but that's basically where all the action took place in in the altered timeline.
