Hey guys, it's been a few years. I thought you might be interested in some stuff I have up for auction on ebay right now. Most of what I have up is current runs, and a couple of bronze age runs, but I decided to put some of my Valiant rarities up ...

I loved the "Forge" and Edge" collections. It was great getting so much quality and variety in a monthly book for so damn cheap.

I think I will have to make a Crossgen list to fill in the holes around those series.

I think house ads are perfectly acceptable.

How about the "Yearbooks". We're they ad free? How awesome would it be to have a single volume of just the valiant yearbooks?

And how about Zero issues? Weren't X-O and Shadowman #0 ad-free?

I am trying to assemble a list of Valiant Comics that are ad-free cover to cover.

Why such an obsessive-compulsive undertaking? I want to send away a collection of Valiant Comics to be bound in a single volume, such as those shown in the "bound books" thread. But I want that volume to have no ...

By the way, I seperated some series to send off to be bound after the holidays. Unfortunately, there are no Valiants among them. As I stated earlier, as nice as the bound volumes are, the ads in that format would bug me.

Can anyone think of any ad-free Valiant issues? Maybe I'll send an assortment ...

He's smart to list them seperately, but if it were me, I would not be able to stand the thought of potentialy breaking up these volumes and sending them to different homes. I'm not typically obsessive-compulsive, but the idea simply can not reconcile itself in my head.

My thoughts on binding my collection were:
1. They were just sitting in my longboxes, bagged and boarded and effectively never read.
2. I really, really enjoy my Valiants and want to read them. By binding them, I'm preserving them (not in CGC Mint condition for possible speculation/resale) but ...

Crap. Going through my collection and I thought of a couple more procedural questions.

Do you send the books bagged and boarded?

How do you indicate to the bindery the order in which the books are to be bound?

If you are sending issues 1 through 20, it should be easy enough. But what about ...

but I'm very partial to this method of collecting. To me, it's a better choice than CGC slabbing.

I hesitate to say it is the coolest ever. There will always be something cooler somewhere. But, I did give it a "5".

But bear in mind that I am largely biased by the excitement of seeing something from Valiant in print again.

How does one measure coolness? Are we judging the book by it's cover? It's rarity? It's content?
