I was wondering if anyone remembers exactly when the X-O Database was sent out.
My letters date this as released in late 12/93. The "Hot Artists" letter from Valiant that came with this does make it sound like the other comic to this set might have been an issue of Dr. Mirage #1 signed by Chang. Does anyone have one like that, signed in silver ink?
The letter from Wizard states that this copy of Harbinger #26 is a PREMIUM signed issue. So should it fit under the "Premiums, etc." catagory on the Inventory list (depending on Greg's definition of a Premium)?
On Bloodshot #6--the back of the Wizard's Guide to the Valiant Universe magazine lists all the Gold & Premium issues released up to that time. Bloodshot #6 VVSS is listed, so it should stay, as well as the X-O Database (which isn't listed but has the COAs).
The Harbinger #26 may not be a VVSS, but it is a rare Premium, if only two of us on the board have one.
Any other copies out there?
I'll have time to post pics today. I'm thinking about selling my copy, with all the letters, & other paperwork. If anyone is interested, just send me your offer.---Steve G

I'll certainlly keep an eye out for other copies in the local stores and on eBay Steve. Perhaps there are hundreds out there just waiting to be discovered.

Here are some pics of the Rare Harbinger #26, signed by Sean Chen.
Since this is a Premium issued directly from Valiant, I've been waiting to see if Greg wanted to add it to the list of official Premiums. What do you think, Greg?

I thought we determined it was issued by Wizard not Valiant and that is is not a VVSS as none of the paper work states that it is part of it.Vault-Keeper wrote:Here are some pics of the Rare Harbinger #26, signed by Sean Chen. Before the holiday, I was offered $50 of the issue & all the paperwork. Now that I have pics up, I'm still taking offers. Write to me at vault-keeper@webtv.net

X-O 1/2 was an official release. X-O data base was a VVSS per the certificate. This is just another signed book. Nothing more.Eric Jackson wrote:Then why is x-o 1/2 on the list? It was a joint venture as well. This may not be vvss, but it is still a promotion that is limited.

I'd probably like to see a few more of them show up before it's added to the checklist (if it should be added at all). At this point, it's just as rare as a Bloodshot #0 Platinum and I don't think that one should be on the checklist either since it's an print run test error and wasn't meant to be made available. It's possible this book was meant to be a dealer's premium that was never sent out since we haven't see this before.
It certainly does look like a cooperative effort between Valiant and Wizard like X-O 1/2 (since there is Valiant letterhead included in the package), but the difference there is that X-O #1/2 features an orginal story and cover while this is just a signed book. I think one could argue that this book is as legit as the X-O Database VVSS since that was a joint issue signed book, as well. The problem comes in because the X-O Database COA declares it a VVSS, while this one apparently doesn't.

I agreed last month that this wasn't technically a VVSS book. However, the letters from Valiant & Wizard, that came with this, definitely rate this well above..."just another signed book & nothing more...."
I believe that the second release from this (mentioned in the "Hot Artists" letter from Valiant) was probably a Dr, Mirage book signed Bernard Chang, & not the X-O Database (even though I can't find out when the VVSS for the Database was released).
In the fourth paragaph of the Valiant "Hot Artists" letter it states-<i>"I hope you'll take the time to look over the TWO COMICS INCLUDED WITH THIS LETTER."</i>
In the first letter from Wizard, that came with this issue, it states-<i>"The other PREMIUM is the first of TWO, FREE SIGNED VALIANT COMICS. Be sure to read the enclosed cover letter FROM VALIANT ITSELF about this book and the second one, which will be shipped with your survey packet next month."</i>
However you look at this, the SOLID facts remain. This IS a signed comic issued FROM VALIANT, & only distributed through Wizard.---Steve

What does it matter what they think? Who cares...Of course I happen to think that it is just another signed book, but so what. If someone wants to buy it, more power to them. I would not go dropping a ton of coin on it since we dont really know anything about it. There could be 5000+ or more copies of this book out there...of course there could be 1 copy..either way I dont see it as particularly vaulable..that is just me though...
