You make a good point perhaps we can have a few people make up fake prices then PM the person with the real high price so when the shilling occurs the sellers shill themselves into a win and have to relistJay Tomio wrote:I'm the type who likes not to discuss my overall price ceiling (and I'm not tryign to reference this particular seller) siimply die to the possible existance of shill bidding by the owner.
Let's face it, this is an easy one stop location to to find out what minimum range a sought after VALIANT willl land Let's say a price for an item is currently bidding for $40, well if I see someone say they will go at least $90, there is nothing stopping me from (certainly not Ebay) to shill that price (if I was the seller) to at least $90. Lisiting our ceiling is more hurtful than helpful IMHO.

The interesting thing is back then Volume One used to go for a lot more than Volume 2, now it's the opposite.Brother J wrote:nope...Daniel Jackson wrote:I do believe that's a new record for the #2 book.

If these prices continue you might have to take out a small bank loan to get one.MagnusRF wrote:Naturally....I'm after #2 now!Brother J wrote:The interesting thing is back then Volume One used to go for a lot more than Volume 2, now it's the opposite.Brother J wrote:nope...Daniel Jackson wrote:I do believe that's a new record for the #2 book.

Just saw this...Daniel Jackson wrote:Wow, 9.9 eh? That will surely help the final price out. Most I've seen have some sort minor wear on them that TPB's are notorious for.VHMMV wrote:I won both of these books together as a lot on eBay last year, and I think that I paid $150 for the lot. When they arrived, they were as close to immaculate as you can imagine. One of them has a slight indentation on the back cover about 1/8 of an inch long which you can only see when you hold it up to the light at a certain angle, but other than that, it's perfect. The other volume is perfect. If CGC graded these things and didn't give them both 9.9, I'd travel down to Florida and smack them silly myself.
That's my long-winded way of saying that if you can buy these together as a lot, then do it. Buying them one at a time only causes long-term trouble.
Hope no one here thought those were my copies up for sale and bid accordingly. I'm not the person who was selling them on eBay, nor am I connected with that person in any way (nor do I know who that person is). I was just commenting on the books in general, and my own copies in particular. I'm never selling mine, and am glad that I bought them when I did.
