Seriously, I have become obsessed with comics since I started again a couple weeks ago. I ahve been driving 500+ miles to distant comic sotres, warehouse sales, and riding my bike throughout town looking for gems.Elveen wrote:nickvasallo wrote:in a 50 cent bin today! woohoo! now I just need #1-2

I know what you're saying - why not just buy on eBay???
To this I say - "Hmmph.....excitement....adeventure....A Jedi craves not these things." In other words...it's ALL bout the hunt. eBay takes the fun out of it (unless you find a mislisted item for 99 cents or something - which I admit I am guilty of searching for too)

With gas prices the way they are I know I'm not making many special trips just to go hunting long distance for books that's for sure.nickvasallo wrote:Seriously, I have become obsessed with comics since I started again a couple weeks ago. That's hardcore!nickvasallo wrote: Seriously, I have become obsessed with comics since I started again a couple weeks ago. I ahve been driving 500+ miles to distant comic sotres, warehouse sales, and riding my bike throughout town looking for gems.

Comic-con is 500 miles from me; by the way, but I have prior plans this year. I would have drove there though just for the Valiant panel alone. 40 miles would probably be my limit as far as traveling to a lcs (or should I say dcs???), unless it was some Superstore with a cute worker or had a killer "buy one get 10 free sale and free cookies and ice cream".

good point but I always find a way to kill 8 birds....I cleaned out my old college locker, picked up 150 back issues for less than $50, spent $50 on gas, and visited my fiancee and family. But I do admit, I have an itch to drive up 60 miles tomorrow to check out a guy thats selling his whole Valiant Collectiion (600 books) for 40 cents a pop (even the VSS)Daniel Jackson wrote:With gas prices the way they are I know I'm not making many special trips just to go hunting long distance for books that's for sure.nickvasallo wrote:Seriously, I have become obsessed with comics since I started again a couple weeks ago.
