The only problem with that is that if you ever decide you need some money and HAVE to sell it, you won't have the certificate to prove it's legit.
You probably still wouldn't have a problem selling it, but you'd get a lot less than if you did have the certificate.

I disagree. I have owned SEVERAL auto'd CEAR's and never had a problem selling for the same as a normal one. VERY FEW of the auto'd ones have the COA, and I think alot here would agree with me that the COA actually adds value to it. It doesn't detract. All the Chang Auto'd ones are the same, big auto on the bottom. Pretty easy to tell.

But I didn't say he'd get a lot less. I said he wouldn't get as much as he would if he DID have the certificate. :|

Not the first time.

The CEAR market's been a little flooded recently, but demand is still pretty strong.

That and it was pretty high priced. He has since been in touch with me and at least one other member about pricing. Since he lowered the Valiant stuff he has sold it all or at least they all have bids.

Ian,

I want this particular copy because it was Trent's. I hope there are no hard feelings. Please feel free to bid. I would hate to lose it but all the money goes to Trent's family. :thumb:

As admirable as that is, it is not logical thinking. You want something, bid on it. Simple as that. Don't let the fact that some other board member wants it stop you. No offense to anyone, but make them work for it. More money that gets bid on this particular item the better in my book. If you want something on ebay, bid high or don't bid at all.

You are right RQB its not 'logical' thinking.. its called 'relationship' thinking. I enjoy this site and the people here, so I choose to respect what they have their eyes on when I am looking at eBay auctions. I guess I attempt to put others before myself as often as possible, this style of life works very well for me and I will not judge anyone for living their life different than mine :thumb:

Im sure what I reap I will sow eventually :thumb:

Oh, and thanks for admiring my behavior :D

Ian,

I also admire your selflessness and value the relationships that I make in collecting more than the books I pick up. Hopefully, this is the start of our friendship :thumb:

This was my feeling on mobstirr's auctoin. I don't like to spend anymore than I have to, but sometimes I can get a little carried away. I may have a consolation prize for you. Do you have any Gold books at all?
