About the only cool thing that's out of the "ordinary" would be a Voyager Commmunications, Inc. business card from Jennifer Maldanodo. It has the X-O #0 XO on it. I got it at the '94 Chicago Comicon. I'm pretty sure those are common with some members of the board.

No kiddin' I wondered the same thing. The back is even
more messed up with a large crease/crinkle going all away across it.
I got it in a trade back in the day and almost tossed it. I figured tho'
it was worth some novelty value at least.

I love this odd stuff. Every time I think I've seen it all, here comes some more.

The ultimate oddball item has to be the Armstrong Ale and Darque Brew. They're not rare, although Dino needs to quit drinking them or we'll run out soon.

I dont know if it is cool or if it is sick...Most of this stuff looks like trash and here were are priasing it uniqueness....Here lets make this interesting...

So Zeph you say that the mis-embossed magnus or XO book could be graded by CGC with no ill effects because of the horrible look of the book because said defects came from the printer and are not subsequent wear which is what CGC grades on? :thumb:

Obviously the printers used on some of the special cover type books had some quality control issues and let covers get bound to books that shouldn't have been, they should have been removed from the print run.
I have several Ninjak 1's without the red ink on the raised letters, I don't think it wore off so they must have come from the printer that way.

Does anyone know if Marvel/DC/Image had these kind of problems with their special embossed covers?

I have a X-O # 10, the problem is not with the cover, it's inside.
When the comic was put together twice the amount of pages were inserted.
2 of the same story in 1 comic.

I have a handful of error books. None but the Magnus #57 are Valiant. I have two Special Embossed Marvel errors: Captain America #325, & Hyperkind #1 (Clive Barker).---Steve

Printing problems that are "extreme" are considered "qualified" defects.
The book is graded as if the defects aren't there, but then they use a green label and describe the defect.

With such a high quality graded book and an interesting defect, I can see why your the owner of that particular Bloodshot Greg. On that note, I found defective comics of the valiant variety to be of interest. I wouldn't mind buying them if the prices are worth the defect. Of course this becomes a purely subjective thing per collector. Since Greg's book is so interesting, I wouldn't think twice about offering him $20 but at the same time I would deline the Magnus 25 because I don't like the feel. /shrug.

On that note, I have an eternal warrior 1 gold with Shooter's signature in gold ink that I paid normal gold price for. I love the book and I think Dino has a picture of it somewhere that he could probably cut and paste to this topic. I'm at work (and honestly to lazy) and can't do it right now.

I have some X-O's after the Birthquake where the art was great, but the story sucked. Whoops, that wasn't a printing error was it? :P

I think I bid around $25 for the bloodshot greg has but Greg bid higher and won. The Magnus #25 I got in trade with a $2 trade value, down from the $4 the seller wanted. These kinds of printer defects are cool but you have to be careful not to overpay. They are essentially worthless, 99.9% of the world would throw these away before even trying to get a penny for them so pay only what you feel they are worth to you as you'll likely never see that money again.

Here's your ew gold whet:

The eBay notification says I won for $14.99 and I was the only bidder.
Maybe you forgot to bid... (If so, thanks!) :thumb:
